Great cheap place.
We were down for Toronto Pride. The Kaisar Guest House is a very affordable place in a great central area. At this price it ain't the Ritz, but it is clean and quiet, and everything works. Spartan is the word. I would go back. The neighbourhood is one of Toronto's 'unique' ones, and is much, much safer than first impression.

Cute!
I only stayed for a night for an emergency matter. My room was close to the washroom, I can hear everything even the people next room whispering, lol. Yet everyone was so considerate and quite. I was surprised. Kasami was lovely and was there to greet me and when I left.

Clean, quiet, economical
Because of the area parking was very difficult. I paid for parking behind the guest house, but someone parked in the area behind me and it was such close quarters I feared I was going to scrape my car on the side of the building trying to get out so the following night I parked on the street even though I wasn't supposed to. It's nice to have a kitchen, although the appliances are old.

Clean but claustrophobic
o Immaculately clean and odour-free. o WiFi Internet access available in the room most of the time. o There was no window in my room, which appeared to be a converted storage space. This was not mentioned in the description of the room. o "shower/tub combination" in the description is inaccurate; it is a shower only. o "air conditioning": the room seemed to be adequately ventilated but there was no thermostat or A/C control. o In the event of fire, exiting the building could be difficult. The route to the only exit is long, narrow and takes several turns. I did not see lighted exit signs.

Not a nice place for business travelers.
Although the bed was nice and bathroom was good there was no window in the room so it felt like a cell plus it was very hot and uncomfortable. The television was ok but often didn't work.
