Exceptional 10.0
From the Isle of Wight to The Bull
Our reception at the Hotel was excellent and throughout our short stay nothing was too much trouble for a very friendly staff. Quality of room and facilities was good and a bit unusual - which added to the charm of the hotel, Meals were good and menu reasonably varied. Bed very comfortable and overall our stay there was a pleasure.

Always a pleasure to stay at the Bull. Room small but has everything you could need for an overnight stay. Excellent evening meals served at the pub

Extremely disappointed.
According to hotels.com the room should have had a King size bed. The bed was a standard 4ft x 6in double. The mattress was very uncomfortable. On leaving the hotel during the afternoon for an evening out I asked a member of staff if the outer door of the pilgrim rooms would be open when we returned later that night. He said it would be open. When we returned at about 11.15pm the outer door was locked and we were soaked waiting in the pouring rain for someone to unlock the door. During the night we heard a buzzing noise and found an extremely large wasp in the room. The room was dirty with piles of dust. The bathroom was extremely tired in appearance with a leaking shower hose and dripping hot water tap. The cooked breakfast for an extra charge was dreadful. The sausage was undercooked. The bacon overcooked. The toast was 2 thick bloomer slices without any butter. Overall a very greasy breakfast. We were extremely disappointed with the quality of the accommodation. and we do not think it was worth the price we paid for it.

Great village location. Good selection of beers and excellent food, particularly breakfast. Staff all very helpful and polite. Rooms to stay in have character and are very nice. Bathroom very clean. Only criticism, some dusty areas in room and 4 of 7 light bulbs needed replacing. Would stay again .

It has been refurbished and refreshed. I didn’t like the first reception. Too many insincere “darlings”.
