Boutique Hotel
Superb time! We stayed for 2 nights. All staff at the hotel couldn't have been more pleasant! During our 2 night stay we dealt with 3 hostesses, several bar/waitresses, duty managers and actually the owner, whom did a wonderful job in all the facility with the decor. You will feel quite at home here. The restaurant food was delicious on our 2 meals, one lunch, 1 dinner and their own named beer on tap, The Raeburn, was actually beyond excellent! I have tried many a beer and I wish I could get this flavor everywhere. We did have a slight issue with our shower not draining well but the duty manager took care of it pronto so I'm calling it a non issue and I hate to even mention it, but I am solely because they took care of it is such a professional, timely and kind manner. This boutique hotel itself is wonderful! It's on the smaller side which we like. The rooms are well appointed with complementary still/sparkling water, crisps Scottish Tea Biscuits (a tasty treat I have never before seen) along with a selection of tea's and a coffee pod machine with the provided coffee's simply delicious! The mini fridge also contained a selection of other beverages if you so desire. There is a quaint library room which is nice to relax in, where you might even meet Angus, the owners English Bulldog relaxing in his self appointed window seat with that look of give me some love! If you have a car there are only 4 resident parking spots, but when they were full and we had to stre

5 Days in The Raeburn in May
Our 5 days staying in the Raeburn gave us a good chance to experience the local area, and all that the hotel has to offer. The Raeburn is a lovely hotel/pub in a lively and growing Stockbridge area of Edinburgh. It is rustic and elegant, and offers a variety of hotel services - food in the restaurant was great. Unfortunately the main issue I experienced was the daily construction work adjacent to the hotel. The development of Raeburn Place is occurring right next to the hotel, which resulted in drilling and heavy machinery operating as early as 8:30am right outside our window. At one point, a crane rolled past our bedroom window! The construction work (I later discovered) has only recently started, and looks to be happening for a number of months, if not all of 2017 - so I would suggest anyone considering a stay bear that in mind, or contact the hotel to find out the latest. The hotel is about a 20-30 minute walk away from Princes Street (Old Town) where Edinburgh castle is. The walk is quite steep at times. The local Stockbridge area has some great coffee shops, and some supermarkets (Sainsbury's local, Waitrose) Parking wise - the hotel offers free parking, but only has space for 4 cars. There is local road parking, but at £2 per hour (8-5pm If i recall) its not cheap during the day - also there were huge signs on the walls saying it was a car crime area - not encouraging! I would stay again, but only when the local development is complete!

Exceptional 10.0
We just spent 2 weeks in Scotland and Ireland, and our stay at the Raeburn was the very best of our trip. Our room with luxurious bath and huge walk in closet with dressing area was wonderful, as were our breakfasts each morning. The hotel (for us) was a short taxi ride away from Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, but the quiet of the area was a wonderful respite from the busyness that is the Royal Mile in August. But what truly made The Raeburn stand out was the staff, who really went out of their way for us, even suggesting that we call them if we had any questions during the rest of our time in Scotland. Would highly recommend this hotel!

They have their act together here!
Stayed at the Raeburn primarily because they offer parking which is a huge problem in Edinburgh. We were more than pleasantly surprised by this small boutique hotel's accommodations. The room was large and beautifully decorated. It had a king sized bed and marble bathroom with a great shower. The Raeburn has thought of everything. If you need it, they either have it or they can get it for you. They even have a flat iron for your hair in the room! The staff was extremely attentive and ready with any touring help you need. Even showing us where they were filming "Outlander" the week before. We would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely wonderful stay. The girls at the front desk are welcoming, warm and professional. The room is lovely and the location is perfect. You can walk to all the sites and be happy to get back to the far less frantic neighborhood. The bar is loud and lively but we didn't hear anything in our room. If I had to find one thing to complain about, it would be the pillows. They felt pretty cheap and not so comfortable in contrast to the luxury of everything else about the room. I can also recommend the restaurant. Good food and fantastic service. If I find myself in Edinburgh again, I know where I'm going to stay!
