Great stay
We had a lovely stay in the annex. We've stayed here before and it's so convenient for town. Great that it has parking but it was limited. The room is nice but starting to look a bit tired.

Lovely, old-worldly hotel very close to centre of Whitby. Very good staff - welcoming and eager to please. Excellent breakfast. (Pity the restaurant wasn't open) However, try to avoid Room 33. Overlooks the roof of ice-cream factory next door, which is used by seagulls to roost. What a noise all night long! Luckily management moved us to another room for our second night. Plenty of parking, which is a bonus for accommodation in Whitby

Hotel was in excellent location. Plenty of parking. Staff were lovely. Room was really clean but at front of hotel so quite a lot of road noise . Not a lot hotel can do about this as building very old. Plenty of choice at breakfast and food beautifully cooked and presented. Would definitely stay there again.

Bagdale hall
The Hotel is split over 3 close by buildings in a quiet area. Breakfast served in the original hall. Does what it says on the tin. Overpriced in my view compared to the George hotel opposite which is also better done out but poorer breakfast. You’re paying to stay in an historic building which you’re unlikely to get a room in. Bed a little too soft for me.

Go for the atmosphere - stay for the breakfast!
Lovely old buildings, comfortable rooms. They are a little in need of updating, but feel fairly clean. Wonderful location. We had breakfast each day and it was really lovely, best part of the stay. The staff are also fabulous.
