we were allocated Residence Loc. Piricone which had a private garden and was set away from Orosei in a very quite area which was great as we had young children. the hotel were responsive to any questions and problems that we had. however it is worth checking which of the three locations you will be allocated as if we hadn't hired a car we would have found it very difficult to travel around the island because of the location of Residence Loc. Piricone
Communication with Case Vacanza Gli Ulivi was prompt and straightforward when we booked but it was almost four weeks later that we received an email informing us that the property we had booked did not sleep six and had only two bedrooms and could sleep only four. We were offered an alternative of three double rooms in a different location in Orosei. We had particularly wanted a pool and a kitchen during our stay so we opted to stay in the original location and make use of the sofa, as suggested by the manager. The photo on our booking form of what we thought was the apartment looked very pleasant and we all felt that the sofa bed option would be okay. However when we arrived at Case Vacanza Gli Ulivi we discovered that we were not in fact renting the apartment in the photo on the booking form but a much smaller apartment. To add insult to injury there were no pillows for the sofa bed and could not get hold of anyone to supply us with pillows until the following day. The air conditioning did not work very well even after maintenance staff checked it out. Although the apartment was very cramped for six adults staff were very helpful during our stay. The location was ideal, easy walking to the magnificent beaches and to the lovely little town of Orosei.
We stayed in a private apartment away from the main hotel so it did not have a pool but the hotel dropped us off two bicycles so we cycled to the hotel through the lovely town and then we cycled from the hotel to the beach. It was very nice as we were away from other tourists and children and the area was very quiet. We also had more around us as the town was 10 minutes away. Lovely beach and boat trip to the most beautiful beaches and caves. People are very friendly although English is not widely spoken so you may need to try to learn the basics. I managed as I speak a little Spanish. No menus in English. So if this bothers you I would not go to Sardinia! I will be going back as it is a little paradise !
