The White Swan Hotel

The hotel is a lovely chocolate box style, black and white, half timbered building that dates back to Bill Shakespeare's time...very atmospheric. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The room - The Romeo and Juliet no less! - was clean, well presented, comfortable and spacious - the roll-top bath was huge! A free bottle of beer upon arrival and our night away from the kids was off to a great start. The hotel is right in the centre of Stratford making it an ideal base for all the sights, shops, restaurants and pubs. We sampled the nearby thai restaurant - superb, tasty food - and several bars including the pub at the hotel which was warm and cosy. The breakfast the next morning was very tasty and nicely cooked - I can recommend the eggs Benedict. We had a great time and will definitely be back and soon!!

Excellent stay in a beautiful atmospheric hotel from 1450 so we could go to the RST. Even changed our room so we could have a bath. Absolutely love the Shakespeare quotes outside all the rooms.

An absolute gem!

From check in to leaving the staff could not have been more hospitable. Nothing was a problem. The hotel is in the centre of Stratford upon Avon, has a lovely atmosphere and is scrupulously clean. We stayed in the suite that is pictured and the only down side is that I would have liked to be able to open the windows instead of using the air conditioning and the wardrobe space is minimal. Bathroom is fab with roll top deep bath and double walk in shower. Nice quirky room. Would stay again.

We have stopped at this hotel before which is why we returned, unfortunately the 2 visits could not be more different from each other. No heating in any of the bathrooms in the hotel ( but not disclosed by the staff on arrival ) heating not working in the room, went to reception to report and was ignored by the male assistant manager behind the desk whilst he continued talking to a colleague for nearly 5 minutes, when I interrupted him he seemed surprised, maintenance man came to room and told us that it was working despite the room being freezing, at this point we decided to check out and call it a day. There was now a female duty manager behind the desk and rather than calm the situation she inflamed it until it was completely out of hand, she was rude and accused us of lying about the heating not working but would not come to the room to see how cold it was, very poor experience and management, would not visit again, or another Fullers establishment.
