Good location but small rooms
Small rooms, perfect for single travels. I can’t imagine 2 people staying in the room

Great value and location
My wife and I were reading reviews of this hotel as we were travelling back to Tokyo and people seem obsessed with the room being "tiny". In our experience of staying in Shinjuku, this seems like a pretty standard sized room. But then again, we book a hotel to sleep somewhere close to the places we want to visit (or near a good transport link, such as Shinjuku Station), we don't want anything more from our room. Maybe a cup of coffee in the morning and a shower. This hotel had very handy coffee bags (think tea bags, but for coffee) and a great shower. Yes, you pretty much have to live out of your case, but we were fine with that for the 5 nights we were there. The bed was comfortable, the hotel had very reasonably priced laundry facilities, and was in a fantastic location. For a bit over £300 for five nights, I challenge anyone to find better value in a major city centre - you'd probably not get an AirBNB for that in London. Anyway, if you're looking for a base to explore Tokyo and the surrounding area, I'd be happy to recommend this - if you have reasonable expectations. My one gripe was the terrible wifi. It was like 1990s dial-up, but if you've planned ahead to get portable wifi or data for your trip, you should be covered.

Good location, but the price is kind of expensive!
Generally good! I just realized that I unintentionally booked for a smoking room when I can smell tobacco scent in the room. I wanted to request to change but did not bother when the front disk is full of guests.

Awesome hotel!
Initially the experience at APA hotel was not so good as we got assigned a smoking room. This is unheard off in the UK, but common in Japan. So double check your booking for this. Stay at APA was great after being switched to a non-smoking floor sections. Bathroom and bedding were great. The spa in the basement was great as well. The hotel also has self service laundry which we used as well. 5 minutes walk from Shinjuku station, lots of good restaurants all round the hotel.
