Let me say that what they advertise is exactly what you get--nothing more and nothing less. My son and I took a room with a bunk bed. The room was probably 7x7--maybe 8x8--the bunk bed all by itself took up around 40% of the room. The room and shared bathrooms were clean. The staff was very nice. The location--about two blocks from Penn Station--was very convenient. The bed was comfortable although the top bunk was just a few feet below the ceiling (the picture doesn't reflect the bunk in the room that we stayed). When I reserved the room, I knew that it was going to be small--I just didn't realize how small. The size of the room also resulted in the room being a bit "stuffy." There were two bathrooms on each of the three floors. One bathroom on the third floor was so small that it would almost be impossible to sit down. The other bathroom was a bit larger. The stay was an interesting experience. Overall, I gave the hotel a reasonably good grade because I did get what they said they would deliver (although they never said exactly how small that room is).

Shared Bathroom not Clear Enough in Listing
After I checked in and found out that there is only one toilet and one shower per floor, I had to search for a while through the listing on Hotels. com to see where it said that there was no private bath. The room for the one toilet is half the size of a typical men's room stall. The place was pretty clean and the bedding was firm enough. Just be forewarned you will not get a private bathroom in this hotel. Also, no elevator!

Nice for NYC
Everything was great except for the things the hotel is not responsible for. Great room. Great Staff. Great bathrooms & showers. Very clean for a NY building. There was a strong smell one night of Indian food from the spiritual center next door (I didn't mind but my friend did) It is located on a loud and dirty NY Avenue. It is next door to a 7-11 and across the street from a large low-income housing project. It is a short walk to attractions but the short walk is fairly unpleasant. A man tried to steal my luggage out of my hands when I arrived. The staff member present apologized and 'shewed' the man away. Keep your wits about you for that 2 block radius but rest assured once you are inside the building.

If IKEA & Pinterest gave birth to a hotel...
The staff are incredibly hospitable and helpful, really above and beyond. The place is definitely VERY compact, so just have your expectations proper. It was quite hard to find at night, but after walking past it twice I finally found it. Remember the bathrooms are private in use (1 person bathrooms), but they are shared by each set of rooms. Do you need to take your toiletry bag to and from your room. It’s very close to the subway station and has a great bodega next door with excellent prices for basic things (ball caps, fruit, medicine, etc). Take a stroll through the floral district or walk over to Macy’s!
