Overall it was a good stay. The staff was really friendly. Breakfast every morning was pleasant. The location was fabulous. We’d stay there again in a heartbeat. Close proximity to bars and restaurants. We went to Pillars for dinner. Very good too. We loved the hiking trail as well. For a short stay, this is such a good option. No elevator, so stairs are your option. We didn’t think it was a big deal, but something to be aware of regards to expectations. Definitely 4.5 stars for the 2 days we stayed. Front seat people were so helpful.

Incredible building and setting, steeped with history. Room was lovely and over two floors. The staff were so friendly and helpful. My only feedback would be about breakfast. The breakfast included in the overnight stay is meagre (continental) and the additional items (at cost) aren’t in the same league as the hotel and surroundings. That said, would definitely stay again.

It took a while to decide on where to stay on my first visit to Antigua, but I am so glad my search landed me at Copper & Lumber. The hotel is truly one of the most unique stays I’ve had. The grounds are beautiful, the room (studio) was super spacious, and had everything we needed. The AC worked, though it didn’t extend into the bathroom, which admittedly is small and not for anyone claustrophobic. Otherwise, I felt like I was in a movie staying there, such nice details and everything is picture-worthy. The staff were amazing! They gave us lots of recommendations of places to visit and eat at. Within an hour of arrival, I had mangoes delivered to the room, followed by a whole bag the next morning. That was the best! They were always up for conversation, which I appreciated. The location of the hotel is ideal also, there are lots of restaurants within a 10-minute walk. Shirley’s heights is about a 15-min taxi ride away and is a must-do experience for the weekly parties/bbq. Pigeon’s beach is about a 20-minute walk away. The minibus also runs on the Main Street to take you into St. John’s. Would definitely stay at this hotel again! Still daydreaming about it….

Room was immaculate and all staff were so helpful and friendly. Rooms were spacious and represented their historic origin. Bed big and comfortable and room was well quipped. Hot water in shower could be slow in coming, clearly because of the ‘heritage’ plumbing but was fine once one knew how it all worked. Wood and varnish and beautiful brickwork everywhere. Great views from room over harbour and enjoyed being within a world heritage site. Only suggestion would be to have a few more comfortable places to sit in and around the hotel rather than the room, especially round the inner courtyard.

Great hotel in Nelson’s Dockyard

I really enjoyed my overnight stay here. The room is very space full, clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was plentiful. The staff were friendly and the historical location was wonderful. The beautiful Pigeon beach is about 15 mins walk and the shops and restaurants are very closed too.

Absolutely recommended. The hotel is located at a beautiful historical building in English Harbor. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The premise has a lot to offer including a beatiful historical harbor and great seafood dinner on Friday evening. I am happy to spend my birthday at such nice hotel and in the beautiful island of Antigua!

Unique historic building restored as a hotel with period decor. Really charming, great location. No pool or beach, but a water taxi can take you to a beach 5 mins away. The best part is how wonderful, welcoming, and helpful the staff was - including the 3 ladies who sang Happy Birthday to my husband at breakfast.

Wonderful location in the heart of Nelson’s Dockyard - at night you can have it all to yourself, stroll around and pretend you own one of the many million pound yachts moored there! Seriously, the location is brilliant - where else can you stay in the middle of a UNESCO world heritage site! Five stars!!!

The property is an historic restoration, brilliantly done, in a gorgeous historic harbor . The staff are amazing...with warm hospitality and professionalism. They were so helpful, particularly Kalia, and treated us like family. They arranged everything we wanted to experience, and chose excellent tours and drivers for us. We can't say enough about our wonderful visit to Antigua, and the staff and atmosphere at C&L were the joyful highlight .
