Very good 8.0
Good location, very busy hotel. Only stayed one night but it did the job!

Very good 8.0
Lovely staff. A bit basic though
Sadly we stayed while the cleaning staff were striking (no fault of the hotel) our room was unmade and no towels changed but as I say, understandable. The beds are very hard but we requested a mattress topper and that helped greatly

Poor 2.0
A good hotel ruined by below average staffing
Clean rooms clean hotel with adequate facilities. Located outside the main area but on good transport links. The local area is a bit of a building site but then that applies to a lot of Reykjavík. Good food in the bar but service in the bar is a complete lottery. One night we had the most attentive, charming barman who was capable of running the bar on his own. The next night four bar staff who couldn’t run a bar with no customers. No interaction, aimless glass cleaning whilst several frustrated customers waited for drinks, heads of beer that looked more like an ice cream than a pint and food being walked up and down the bar because they forgot who ordered what. If you get served in under 10 minutes of standing at the bar then well done. Finally our last night was spectacularly ruined by our room being assigned to another couple whilst we were asleep inside it. Imagine theirs and ours surprise on the door opening. Platitudes was all the staff could seem to muster up, without any explanation. Exacerbated further in the morning, on a Sunday by cleaning staff repeatedly trying to clean the room before 9am. Our own fault I suppose for not putting the do not disturb sign up the night before however this is the first time I’ve ever needed one before 9am in any part of the world.

Exceptional 10.0
Great hotel and location
Recommended this hotel and did not disappoint. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Unable to manage all the beers on offer in the beer garden though ! Less than 10 min walk into town, free parking round the corner in front of the shops 6pm-8am and free Sat and Sunday was a bonus as well

Fair 4.0
Appalling service and no attention to detail
Room had a rubbish view. Staff knocked on our door on New Year’s Day to clean it at 10am... even though we had a sign on saying ‘please don’t disturb’ and let’s face it, everyone goes out on New Year’s Eve so wants to sleep in on New Year’s Day. We went out at 11.30am and turned the sitnto ‘please clean’. When we came back at 9.40pm the room hadn’t been cleaned! AWFUL. We’d paid an enormous amount for sub standard service. Called reception to tell them and they were disinterested. Had to ask for clean mugs, glasses and towels. Tookthem twenty minutes to send these up. So disappointing, not at all the stay I thought it was going to be.
