Beautiful Hotel on the South Bank
We stayed at the Mondrian for 5 nights during a jam-packed visit to London. Prior to arriving, I contacted the hotel with a few questions, and they responded quickly and thoroughly to each question. They even helped me arrange to have an Easter basket delivered to the hotel, since we were arriving the day before Easter, and I wanted my daughter to have something waiting for her. The hotel is simply beautiful. It is very modern, and is "fancy" by our standards (we usually stay in "family-friendly" hotels, and this was definitely a step up for us). The staff is extremely attentive, sometimes almost too much for us (we are fine with carrying our own bags, and opening the doors ourselves. I liked it, but my husband felt it was a bit much, and it made us wonder how often to tip), but it is hard to fault them for this. We arrived very early on our first day, and they stored our bags, and sent us in the right direction to begin exploring. The hotel is very near to the Borough Market, Shakespeare's Globe, the Tate Modern, and in easy walking distance to the London Eye. Our room was well-appointed, had very comfortable beds, and a great shower. After busy days of sight-seeing, it was nice to have a clean and comfortable room to return to. The restaurant on site had an amazing-looking breakfast every day, and though we didn't manage to indulge even once, it is my daughter's only regret of the trip. Check-in and check-out was very easy. We loved our stay, and would definitely return.

I was recently a guest at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. On my previous visits to London I always stayed in the Hyde Park area, and I must say I loved your location along the river. We walked everywhere. I especially want to call out one of the employees, Catalin of the Bell & Door team, who was very, very helpful. A woman at the front desk had informed me the day before check out that I could get a taxi to Heathrow for a fixed price of 75 Pounds, and so we made the decision to do that for the following day. When we reconfirmed that the morning of our check out, we were told that the figure she told us was incorrect and that taxis do not do fixed fees. We were in a bind as the other parties we had traveled with were taking the train and that was not a good option for us. Catalin said he would take care of finding us a car and suggested Addison Lee. He filled out all the info on the front desk computer and within 5 minutes we had a car and driver at the door. The fee was 51 Pounds which was a great surprise. And by the way, Addison Lee was great and I will definitely use their services the next time I am in London. Their price fluctuates based on demand and the time of day, but once they quote you a price it does not change. I thought the breakfast buffet was way overpriced at 20 Pounds per person! We found a lovely little market around the corner (Waitrose) and enjoyed their breakfast selections. One other caveat is the bathtub.....no bars to hold!

Came here for our anniversary as a VIP+ Member, Staff was quite nice on checking and things go down for there. Room - the room we checked in felt like a standard room and not a Superior Room and this wasn't cheap (over £200). Cleanest - As a 5-star place you would have thought the room to be nice and clean, this wasn't the case. The side of the bed has stains all over, the furniture had a layer of dust and was not cleaned in a while. The bathroom and poop marks in the bowl. Staff - The staff was okay when checking in. The Spa Staff was great. The worst staff I ever experienced was at the rooftop bar. The guy (didn't give us his name) was very rude. My other half laughing about something and the guy said 'is there anything to laugh about', my other half said 'is it okay for me to laugh about something to my bf'. He then walked off and another staff member had to step in which was very rude and killed our mood Location - The location is really good but there are other better places to stay than this place. Recommend? I would not recommend this place, a better and nicer hotel nearby which I stayed and loved is 'Park Plaza County Hall'.

Amazing property! This hotel is exceptionally clean and they truly understand customer service. The location is amazing being near the London eye, millennium bridge, the globe and waking up to St. Paul’s cathedral as the view from our room. The lyanesse bar is great with truly knowledgeable Bartenders. My only criticism would be the level of service at the restaurant downstairs. I ate there three times. Food was good each time, but the dinner I had I had to ask for my drink three times. It was busy so I let it slide. The next morning I had breakfast there. Not busy at all and you have the option of self serve buffet or to order. I ordered and asked for a Bloody Mary that never came. My waiter was goofing with coworkers and didn’t come back until he left the bill which had the bloody on it. Then when I flagged him down he immediately responded with “I know you didn’t get your drink, do you still want it?” As if he knowingly left it on the bill and then got caught. I just asked that it be taken off. He did with a half hearted apology. Third was in the evening at the bar and the service was impeccable. The menu for the restaurant is different from room service and my wife really wanted the civiche tacos. They were will to let me order at the bar and deliver it via room service. We had an overall amazing stay and every other part of the stay was fantastic.

Good
Well styled hotel that service doesn't quite match
Stayed 1 night (Sat) at the Mondrian for our anniversary. Hotel is great from an ambience/decor perspective, my experience suggests that there are quite a few things missing to make it worth the cost in the hundreds a night. Abbreviated review. Looks good, has a big hotel price for a small hotel way of thinking. Our biggest annoyance by far was the service as a hotel guest. Service experience: When I booked the guest services team offered (I didn't ask) to get us a table at one of their bars, I picked the Rumpus Room and asked for a window seat as it's rooftop bar with good views. They knew the occasion. I had to chase them to get confirmation of the booking. Eventually I got a phone call - they did the usual "we will do our best to accommodate you" - I should have known. Our dinner reservation moved, when I checked in I asked to move the RR booking from 2230 to 2300 as they will only hold a table for 15 mins. Front desk called the RR, and was promptly told "no". Consider, that's a 15 minute delta. Remember again, she is calling for a hotel guest. Didn't matter. We made it on time, fairly long queue - none of whom were guests. We were guests though, so we wouldn't have to queue would we?... ha, of course we did, because the fact were guests is of no consequence. When we got to the check-in person, I asked if we had a window seat. Nope. The guy was very curt telling me people book 6-12 months in advance. Remember again I'm a guest. May as well book and stay elsewhere then.
