Good 6.0
The hotel is located right near everything we wanted to see, so that was great. The staff communication was awful, though. I was not told when I checked in that I would be charged $50 per night for parking (I was told that "valet parking is the only option for parking and it is complimentary") , I was not told that I had to pay extra for the breakfast served downstairs each day. The valet service is also really crappy for $50 a day. You ask for your vehicle (if there is even anyone standing at the stand- usually you have to wait 15-20 min for someone to return to it) and then it takes them 20-30 minutes to bring the car around. So I always tried to get it asked for 45 min early... Ridiculous. I am not normally one to complain, but I wasn't happy overall with this hotel because of the lack of communication and service.

Exceptional 10.0
The wall of glass with our street side king room was hypnotic, watching the city pulsate below. Room had a sheer shade and a blackout shade, both of which lowered from above which provided whatever amount of light/privacy you desired. Bathroom with large tiled shower was modern, functional, roomy, and highly ergonomic and was the highlight of the room, after the view. Great breakfast at $13 per Room, not per person!! Cool music in lobby. Uber was never more than 2 minutes away! A plethora of restaurants nearby plus a full liquor store 1 1/2 blocks east for “supplies”. Very close to 2 Metro stations. Fresh tasty apples in lobby, plus the rooftop bar Ellipse has happy hour 4-8 every day with energetic crowd and friendly bartenders. Yes, I’d say we enjoyed our stay.

Valet parking charge
Very clean, comfortable and a nice rooftop bar. But I did not like how I was not informed of there being no parking in the area. They offer a valet service, which I was also not explained that it would be charged to the credit card left on file for incidentals. I didn’t ask because I thought a friend paid for the valet as he went to get our car. But he wasn’t told anything either from the valet people. So maybe just suggesting that the workers on the check in/out desk should make sure to explain this. I would have preferred to make the valet payment another way.

Two Thumbs Up!!
We had an excellent stay at the Hyatt Place DC White House! The staff was courteous and friendly, and the hotel was extremely clean. The hotel is in a great area that is extremely convenient for many different destinations, including restaurants, memorials and the White House, obviously. I would highly recommend staying here.

Great stay at Hyatt/Whitehouse
We had a great stay at the Hyatt/White House. I can't say enough good about how friendly and helpful the entire staff was. The room was large and comfortable. We had two negatives. One was that the air conditioner ran quite cold, since there was not an auto setting. The second was the traffic noise. Our room faced K Street and there were a lot of sirens during the night. The breakfast was good and plentiful every morning, even on the very busy labor day weekend. If you don't mind walking, you can get most places quite easily. The metro is a block and a half from the hotel. Bus stop is outside Metro station. We took Uber twice, and waited 2 minutes both times. Mostly walked everywhere. Great way to see the city. Found a parking garage for $23 two blocks from hotel, for the one day/night we had a car. Overall, highly recommend and would stay again.
