A little slice of utter tranquility
This hotel is like a slice of tranquility for me. I have stayed twice before and every time has been nothing short of blissful. Fantastic staff, delicious food and beautiful surroundings. I love staying here - the rooms are cosy and the beds are divine. As mentioned before - the food is amazing and the staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. I only wish I could stay longer when I visit, but nevertheless I can't wait to go back.

Excellent alll round
Stayed here for a wedding weekend, it was amazing. The breakfast is excellent, so much choice and freshly cooked. We had an evening meal in the bar area on arrival and this also was excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The setting is stunning and so close to the beautiful towns in the Cotswolds.

Great Property in a beautiful location
My overwhelming memory of our stay will be the excellent service, from check-in to check-out. Staff were friendly without being too familiar, attentive without being over-fussy, and professional without being too formal. We also experienced a couple of 'Twilight Zone' moments! Never having stayed before we did not know the bedrooms were named, so it was a real surprise to be shown to Villiers - as this was also the name of the Hall of Residence I lived in at Leicester University in the 1980s; then when we were talking to another couple in front of the fire in the bar after dinner we discovered the husband had also attended Leicester University (but different Hall and different time!). The food at dinner and breakfast the next morning was very good. The village of Lower Slaughter is beautiful, with Upper Slaughter almost as beautiful. The Church across the road from the Inn is worth a look; although we were unable to view the Mill museum as it is only open at weekends in January. The Inn is ideally suited for Bourton-on-the-Water. Definitely looking to return before too long.

Food alert!!
Superb hotel only negative was that they run out of everything in the restaurant. I ordered the fish of the day (sea trout) but 10 mins later was told it was gone and the special was now sea bream which was already a menu item. They had then run out of sticky toffee pudding when wanting to order a dessert. We brushed this aside as a one off but then at breakfast the following day I ordered avocado and poached eggs, it then took 20 minutes to come back and tell me they had run out of avocado’s. Beautiful place but left a little disappointed!!
