La Casa di Venere
Really nice hotel
Great hotel in gorgeous Riomaggiore. As I eas travelling alone, I've booked single room. It was a small one, but It's enough for one person. This hotel is, as I call "upside down hotel". Cause reception is at the top floor, so if you have heavy luggage, better leave by the entrance. There is a place just opposite room no2. Owner ( as I understood) was really friendly and even came down to show my room (which was no1), it's really nice and gives a warm welcoming. Usually nowadays, you just get keys and directions where is you room. I will definitely stay in this hotel on my next visit to Cinque Terre. Grazie

Not the greatest for me. The only positive thing is that it was clean. The air conditioner barely worked and had a foul smell when it was on, one of us got sick from the air quality. The room itself was good size but the oldest most uncomfortable mattress and pillows were so bad we actually took the comforter and rolled it into a pillow just for something. The shower water never was stable throughout the duration of a shower, first too cold then turns to hot then warm then too cold... Never once was the trash can in the room emptied or the bed made. The stairs to enter the building were steep and had no light so in the evening we had to use the light of our cell phone to reach the top where some sensor turned the lights on for the next flight of stairs. This place is overpriced for what you get. Packets of soap, stale tea, terrible mattress.. And the Noise is terrible. On our last night it sounded like someone was moving furniture above us at 2 in the morning.. The curtains in the room don't block light nor does the shades. I would not return nor would I recommend this establishment.

Forget it
Very hard to find. Be aware that a street can start out as what looks like steps to someone's house. The single room was terrible with a platform bed up two stairs. No mirror in room. Bathroom separate which required me to set my cup of water on the floor as it took 2 strong hands to unlock door. Bathroom smelled moldy, no ledge to set anything. No bathmat, 1 harsh towel. Water all over a slippery floor when you shower. Too many stairs for me hauling luggage. No front desk, no porters!! Don't waste your money.

Think if you want to stay in Cinque Terre
Location is difficult to find and google map is also not able to pinpoint it. If you are travelling with large luggage, you need to think twice as the terrain is very challenging. There is no hot shower. The staff are helpful and polite and the bed is not that comfortable.

Horribly dirty. The bathroom smelled really bad and the shower was the worst. The bed was not comfortable at all and the window curtain was transparent so no privacy at all. The location is excellent and that is about it.
