The location of this hotel couldn’t be more perfect. It is steps from all the shops, cafes, canal, etc in the Bikan historic district. The hotel could use some updating, but was still lovely and comfortable. This part of our stay in Japan was our favorite.

The hotel is amazing, being a repurposed cotton spinning mill. Its location is on the edge of the historic area, so everything is in close proximity. The staff were excellent, helping us with a couple of problems we faced. We loved the city and the hotel.

The room was very nice but possibly as far from the entrance as humanly possible. Staff were absolutely strict about the 3pm check in. The highlight was the restaurant. Such a beautiful village. Kurashiki is the highlight of our family’s trip to Japan. Ivy Square is also very beautiful and one can spend the whole afternoon in its courtyard. The standard guestroom is standard Japanese sized…small but sufficient. The staff are very friendly.

excellent atmosphere

It is in a historical spinning mill factory museum. The building itself is old, but renewed to good condition with a excellent restaurant, bar, public bath, beautiful garden, patio and confortable accommodation. Location is a little bit far from the train station, but just next to or in the sightseeing area.
