wonderful food, great people
the room was clean, cosy and comfortable, food very nice, and by the looks of the bar food/restaurant it looked wonderful, would have loved to try it but arrived too late for the Sunday food serving hours as it finishes at 7pm, the reception is in the bar and the hotel has a night porter which I thought very unusual for such a small hotel, but good for security and other late arrivals/early departures. Good facilities in the room and plenty of coffee/tea etc. Fantastic hairdryer although the tv reception poor quality (not their fault). Very nice stay.

Great restaurant, dodgy breakfast!
The evening meal was delicious, entertainment was good and the beer was top quality. Rooms are comfortable if a little 'brash' but we wouldn't complain...beds were comfy and clean. The breakfast service was a little odd with no butter left for our toast, my wife being offered black pudding with her vegetarian breakfast and the table next to us being offered brown sauce with their porridge. Obviously a different chef to the evening before!! What did arrive was well cooked and tasty.

The faux empire-style furniture was a bit OTT, especially the projections on the bed legs that are just at knee and shin height. Bed was comfortable though. Breakfast was ample and service pleasant. Long time to wait for registration the night before. Decoration a bit tired.
