Highly recommend
Really had no idea about the area we were booking our hotel in but it turned out to be a very nice row of boutique style hotels on one side of the street and homes on the other. Only a couple blocks to St. Mary's Hospital where the newest royals all were born and about a mile walk or so to Hyde Park which borders both Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace. Every single person at the front desk went above and beyond to help me since I am disabled and use a mobility scooter even though I had my son who is in the military with me. When I left, he was already gone and they helped me a great deal getting my scooter in and out of the building (they have stairs into hotel) and when I returned later that day to collect my bags for my move closer to the airport they helped carry the bags out along with the taxi driver. The place was booked solid when we were there. We didn't get to see the breakfast since we both slept in late each day but they have two very nice parlor rooms on the ground level for enjoying a refreshment from the bar. I left my heavy winter coat there in all the excitement of gathering my bags to put into the taxi and I called them and they are going to mail it to my home tomorrow (I'm paying for shipping of course). The hotel is a bit older and the rooms are small (our bathroom was tiny) but I would stay with them again. The genuine friendliness of the front desk and all that worked there and how above and beyond they went to help me, is not seen in the US.

Great Room and Great Location.
A great economy choice in a great area. A short walk to Paddington Station with plenty of Underground lines. Walking distance to Hyde Park and Kensington Palace. Wide choice of restaurants and small cafes, convenience stores, and shops along the streets to Paddington Station. The room was always very clean and in excellent repair. Great to have a window that opens. Plenty of power outlets. There is a great lounge for meeting in the morning or just relaxing. Traditional breakfast choices. This hotel has a modern elevator, but does not have air conditioning. It was cool when I stayed, so I can’t comment on summer comfort. Being so close to a major rail station, it can be busy all night in the area, so some noise is expected. For security, you are buzzed into the lobby from the street by the desk, and you drop off your key at the desk when you leave the hotel and pick it up upon returning. The desk was always attended and neither was ever an issue. What you get in the room: Wall mounted TV with plenty of channels Hair dryer Coffee maker and tea Radio Plenty of towels and TP What you don’t get in the room: Alarm clock Refrigerator Microwave Room safe USB charging International power adapter Face tissue The only things I missed having were hand towels (only bath towels) and face tissue. Overall an excellent experience.

This is an excellent hotel; not fancy but a great value for the money. I chose this hotel for five reasons: 1) price: we are retired so funds are limited. 2) location: it is about a five minute walk from Paddington Station so very easy to access transportation to Heathrow as well as several London underground lines. 3) It included an English breakfast: both quality and quantity were of the highest order. An additional bonus is the wonderful staff that serves the breakfast, very friendly and attentive. Thank you, Suzie and colleagues, for all of your hard work on our behalf! 4) It has an elevator. My wife has a hard time with stairs, so this was a necessity for us. 5) The owner or manager of the hotel commented on every review that appeared in Expedia which tells me that they take a personal interest in their guests. Their concern for the quality of their establishment is evident throughout. When I asked a question about our booking, they responded within minutes. In addition to the above, the other staff members are also very kind and courteous. Maia at the front desk was friendly, efficient and very, very helpful with loads of information on restaurants and local cell phone plans. We had a three-bed room which was spacious and comfortable. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. I would definitely stay there again, and would highly recommend it to others.

Not Recommended but has Great Potential.
I wouldnt recommend this hotel- - A shower that poorly functioned and should have been replaced years ago. - Although parking is available it is purely first come first serve so you may be unlucky and have additional charges. - Generally the public areas were in need of maintenance, so does that apply to the kitchen too? - Food (breakfast) horrendous, although included in the price it was borderline inedible for me. - Minor detail but the layout at /fast of cutlery was non-existent and gave the impression that the staff did not care; they were polite, friendly and helpful though when talking. - No safe. - VERY hard bed. The response back from the hotel will be that when you remove the cost of parking [potentially not there though] and food which other hotels do not include that it is great value for the location, I would cite my previous stay at a competitor which was vastly superior for £10/ night more in a more desierable location; sadly due to late notification of my travel the preferred hotel was full. This is a hotel that plays on parking and location knowing that customers will exist and believe they are getting good value for money when they see the big player prices - There are far better value for money offers for £10/ night more. My recommendation is for the hotel to change-out showers (based on my room) for a couple of hundred pounds; paint communal areas and pay attention to minor details on presentation before out of season upgrade.

Older style, small rooms, good breakfast
I was travelling with my sister & mother so we chose a room suitable for three. We had 2 rooms, one with a queen bed and one withhold singles. We also had a a bathroom to share between the two rooms. The biggest downside was that the bathroom was accessed from the room with the queen bed. This meant my sister and myself who had the twin room, had to go out of our room & take our key then enter the other room, with another key to enter the bathroom. Fine during the day but at night if you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night your disturbing everyone, opening and closing three seperate doors. The hotel is older but is clean. It could do with an update of soft furnishings. The included breakfast is more than adequate and very good. Day staff are lovely and had heaps of personality only too happy to help. Night staff, not so, first impressions first impression from the gentleman on the desk was not a good one. We found him quite sullen and unfriendly. We had an appointment to keep within an hour of arriving and asked that they call us a cab. Careful !! They used a private taxi service which charged us £18 for the trip, the return trip was £11 in a London cab. When we mentioned this on our return, he and the girl on reception, who also was sullen, said too bad we told you the price ! As we had just arrived we had no idea of the cost of a cab. The least they could have done is told us they used a private cab service that would cost more.
