Great location to visit Edinburgh from
The Parliament House is located near the Waverley train station and certainly within walking distance to Holyroodhouse and Edinburgh castle. It backs up to Calton hill which provides an excellent view of the city. This is the second time staying at Parliament house and overall I was very happy with the accommodations. This being said, I do wish the bed was more comfortable and the pillows could use a bit more fluff. The nightstands on either side of the bed were very narrow given the amount of items I need at hand nowadays. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. Everyone I spoke to seemed very interested in making sure my questions were answered to my satisfaction. The bottom line is that I love this place, the people and the location.

Good 6.0
The Parliament Hotel is a lovely hotel with a great location...close enough to where everything happens, but off the beaten path a bit so you can have a decent night’s sleep. My only complaint is that I feel the service at the front desk was a bit lacking. I had emailed months previously that we were to arrive early in the morning (6:30 am) and although I knew that they would have a much later check-in time, to at least put a note on file to have our room available as soon as possible. They responded they would store our luggage but they had no control over when the room would be ready. I get that and I understand and it is busy in Edinburgh this time of year. As it happened our flight had a 6 hour delay so we didn’t arrive until well after noon. When we asked if our room was ready the young lady on the front desk quoted hotel policy. We were exhausted after travelling for the last 18 hours and didn’t have it in us to go out and return later. One of the cleaning staff must’ve overheard our conversation as she immediately tended to the room! We very much appreciated her helping us out.

Interesting historic building built into the hillside. Nice staff. Walking distance from the train station. Proximity to train station useful except at Edinburgh Festival time when massive disorganized crowds overwhelm the area. Unless one is determined to be close to the Festival, the room is definitely not worth the high season price.

Fantastic Little Gem
We were in Edinburgh for three days and this was a great hotel. It's not super new but that's the character we wanted. If you want the Hilton experience, this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a quaint European hotel this is it. It's close to all the attractions, about a 10 minute walk, and so you save a ton versus being on the main strip. Nearby is a great dinner spot-Howies. Everything we had there was delicious. The only thing I'd caution is that there are alot of steps, so if you are disabled it's probably not the best choice. We would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat. And if you are doing any tours with Rabbies, it's a five minute walk. The staff was also very helpful with great advice on where to eat and visit.

Cozy hotel with friendly staff
I went to Edinburgh for a weekend with my mum and we decided to stay at the Parliament House hotel. What a darling hotel! We were extremley satisfied with everything - location, a clean and big room, cozy reception area (beautifully decorated for the holidays), quick check in- and our - the list goes on! The only disappointment was the breakfast (not included). We decided to eat at the hotel the first morning but experienced the breakfast rather dull and overpriced and therefore decided to eat out the remaining mornings! Edinburgh is full of great breakfast/brunch spots! One last thing I want t mention is how extremely friendly and helpful the receptionist was! She helped us to a quick check in and gave us great recommendations for things to do and see, thank you! Will recommend this hotel to others!
