Wouldn’t recommend
Would not advice anyone to stay in York Bishops Bed and Breakfast. On the 2nd of June I paid them £84 the payment of the room. On the 3rd when I checked out they have attempted to take £150 and another payment of £75 out of my bank luckily it’s been sent the fraud team of NatWest: otherwise they will have had £309 out of me and there was nothing I could have done!! There was no damaged to the room. Sadly whilst we was there unluckily for me as a lady. I had bled on the white sheets. Which I had left a note. As there was blood on the sheets which I told the cleaner and was told that it was ok and we stripped the bed. And folded everything for them. This is awfully embarrassing for myself as I have never experienced anything as such. This was not a damage this was an accident. I do not believe for one second their bed sheets are £150. My family own a very successful company which is a laundrette. This was easy to get out in one wash. I had left a note and my email address, which stated the accident that happened but I could not have possibly have stopped this. As a company of a hotel they should cover this as accidents do happen. This is not a damage, this is an accident. Will not be recommending. I will not be coming back and will be making all of this clear to everyone deciding to stay here in the future.

Comfortable and Quaint in a Great Location
This was not exactly what I had pictured and not my normal type of accommodation, however it was comfortable and very handy to the centre. You could walk it if the weather was suitable ( probably 20 minutes+), however we had snow and rain so a £5.-£6 taxi ride was our choice. Please note that although they have 5 different taxi companies you still have to book ahead ( especially on a Sat) as we tried to get one at 6.30pm and there was none available until 8pm. They do have Uber’s although they charged 2.8 times a taxi ride! The hosts where very pleasant and as we where leaving prior to breakfast on the Monday she offered to bring us a tray up on the Sunday evening ! Breakfast on the Saturday was sufficient but nothing to write home about! This place is certainly not modern in any way but a homely feel was apparent. Was it worth the money? I would have to say unfortunately not, the price was a bit too high for what was delivered! Had it been £50 cheaper a night I would say yes, however then I would not have booked it, I expected a higher standard for the money I paid. The shower was weak and extremely noisy, once we figured out how to turn it on ( the switch was outside the bathroom ) the wall / floors are thin so when they used the room next door it was extremely loud, luckily I think this was just the owners as they soon left.
