Stonehouse Court Hotel
Very Good8.0
Stayed for wedding
We stayed for a wedding. The service was excellent and rooms comfortable. The only thing I would say is it was really awkward to have the teas and coffees hid away in the wardrobe and I couldn’t find the hairdryer at all which was hidden away in a clunky drawer at the bottom of the wardrobe. I found it after heading out with wet hair which wasn’t ideal. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and the staff couldn’t do enough

A little let down :-(
Mattress and pillows a bit soft and sad, terrible smell in the room which I think was from the wood treatment on the wardrobe. Sadly our room was in the modern extension to the beautiful old building which was a lot of up and down stairs and along corridors to reach from the reception area. Breakfast was nice although they forgot us on the Sunday morning and we were left waiting for ages, by which time we had lost our appetites. Lovely walks along the tow path and nice grounds. None of the staff were rude or anything but nobody made any effort to be particularly friendly apart from the cleaning crew. Reception barely even made eye contact.

So so.
Average. Friendly staff but overwhelmed by the number of guests. Long wait times at the bar and restaurant. Some staff inexperienced.

Lovely stay
The rooms were spacious and well presented with very comfy beds.

Not vey good. Our room was a bit drab although the view of the gardens from our rom was very good. The curtains in the room should be taken down and started again - they don't fit at all well round the window. Also we were given just one shampoo and shower gel between us, and there were no shower caps. I have to say the breakfast was very good. I think you should do something with the reception area - I have never been into such a drab area in a hotel. You should train your staff a little more as we weren't asked if we needed help with our cases so we had to haul them up a few flights of stairs. As my friend and myself are in our 70's it was very difficult.
