It was an amazing hotel. Loved that they kept the feel of the original building. Was a bit surprised that there was no TV but realized it was a good way to decompress.

A bit rustic, but the right stay for us
We had an enjoyable stay in a "rustic cabin" - glad to have a bathroom as many of the cabins do not. The room is cozy, a bit dated, and we could hear a lot of noise throughout the evening as our cabin was right next to the communal bathroom building. Overall, the main positive (beside the walkable access to the hot springs) were the very friendly staff. It actually snowed in the morning and we were briefly unable to leave the park. The hotel staff were diligently plowing and salting, and we were served by an amazing waitress at dinner who gave us a photo album of some of her own park pictutes to enjoy. If you are going to Yellowstone during the snow season, staying here will give you the best likelihood to exit via the North Entrance when most park roads completely shut down.

Wonderful stay!
Loved this cute cabin! Beds were very comfortable and we were conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants and store. The only negative was the single sink for getting ready in the morning- definitely not room for two, but we managed. The porch (with two chairs and small table) was an added bonus for watching people and wildlife.

Pleasantly Surprised!
We stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms. The room was beautiful, spacious and very clean. The location was convenient to the Mammoth Hot Springs area, everything within walking distance. The staff we encountered were helpful and very pleasant.

Very nice hotel but lacking amenities for price
Very nice, retro style hotel inside Yellowstone NP for slowing down on vacation plus close to town (Gardiner) for additional restaurants and shopping. The rooms have all been recently renovated and are really nice looking with a lot of nice features - though it will not be for everyone. It was also overpriced in our opinion though it will certainly always be in high demand due to supply. Some of the choices they made such as no bathroom fans, AC, or TV's in room are a bit surprising after such a long (4 year) renovation process. But the rain head shower, mini-fridge, and new mattress were all a plus. We opened a window and it was nice and comfortable, though we did use the supplied retro-stylized oscillating fan to circulate the room. The internet is essentially non-existent being only able to connect in the lobby and at speeds that are pretty much useless other than for email. And while no in room TV is great for getting out in the park, being college football fans it would have been nice to watch the game during dinner sine it was the season opener and our home team was the national game. I would probably stay somewhere a bit more modern next time for the price we paid, or perhaps return to the Old Faithful as the ambiance is quite a bit more interesting.
