Exceptional
A Yorkshire Dales welcome in Cumbria.
This was a great stopover for our journey North. The Inn was well situated in the Yorkshire Dales with a welcoming ambiance. We enjoyed one of two very good circular walks in the Dales which the hotel offers from the car park. There are stunning views and the restaurant was superb.We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked in on our return journey.

Welcoming, comfortable, clean - but creaky
Stayed for 1 night on a walking weekend. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The room and ensuite were very clean, and the bed was comfy. The TV in the room was tiny! And the rooms had very creaky floorboards, which could be heard from room to room whilst people were moving around, and there was some noise from the kitchen (?) below. But this definitely did not keep me awake at night. The food in the pub was good - lots of choice and decent quality. Would stay again if I was in the area.

Worth a detour
Charming pub. Beautiful views and good pub grub. Amazing selection for breakfast. My room was above the kitchen extractor fans so quite noisy at cooking times but clean and comfortable.
