Very good 8.0
Overall an enjoyable stay but there is no where to put anything in the bathroom - no surface top around the sink or even a shelf, which we found very impractical.

Couldn't Sleep for noise
Stay here before it is a hotel with a character which is nice but this time we booked the a available business lass room. What can i say awful room was ok in decor but very small no different to that of a premier inn really but no sleep overnight people shouting down corridors banging doors right throughout the night. Heating in the room has a main normal raditor which didnt work at all and a small electric rad' this you could set a temp but took ages to heat up and then after a while went off Won't be staying again given the £168 price tag on the room not work the extra not to sleep avoid.

Good 6.0
Close to the city center, but average rooms.
When arriving at the hotel lobby we were happy; it's very pretty and we were sure we were going to have a great weekend for my graduation. As soon as we entered our room, however, we were disappointed. We asked for a double room and instead we had a double bed and a single. This wasn't so much of an issue. The room was average at best. The paint work was drab and boring. The plug sockets were hanging off the walls. We were confused as to why downstairs looked so good, and yet our room was not only nothing like the pictures on the website, but also uncomfortable and only just functional. Neither of us slept both nights and we left feeling more exhausted and aching than we came. We would have asked to move rooms only we had spent so long unpacking, trying to get ready for my graduation (suits and dress hung up etc) that we literally didn't have time to change! We really tried to make the most of our trip. I booked this hotel thinking it was going to be a lovely experience for my graduation ceremony, but apart from the closeness to the center of Chester, we were disappointed. I won't be staying again.

Room 311
The location of the hotel was very central and the staff Very helpful.the food was fine. The room was basic. The radiator didn't work but there was an oil filled radiator in the room. There was quite a bit of limescale around the bath but the toilet was clean. I had to buy handsoap as there was none. Our room was right next to the liftshaft and I had bother sleeping due to the noise of lift and door opening and closing. I would have asked for a change if staying longer. I would stay again but not in that room.
