Needs updating
Great staff, the hotel could do with a good makeover, as it is looking very tired, I only ate at the pup twice, the sausage and mash was good but the fish I had was over cooked and poor, l would suggest that hotel and pub needed updating to a much better standard.

Good
Chose the Ravensworth for its convenience, local to my family home I received a warm welcome on arrival and the check-in was relatively smooth. I was a little Surprised that my room was located outside and to the rear of the hotel; which had similarities to an American drive in Motel and felt a little in-secure, paticularly as the door to my room (18) has not been secured. When I inserted the key into the Yale lock the door pushed open, which raised my concerns about security. There was no mention on reservation, that my room was outside of the main hotel.......not brilliant as it was hammering down with rain The room however was small but comfortable for my needs. It did however have a few minor issues which could have been easily rectified with a little TLC - Mould on the bathroom ceiling, curtain covering the exterior door and window was hanging off the rail, no toilet roll holder and the thermostatic radiator control sitting below the bathroom radiator. That said, I did have a very good nights rest on a very comfortable bed The bar and restaurant can be described as characterful, comfortable with a bit of luxury and a fantastic ambience. I had a lovey meal of mixed Seafood and fries, all washed down with a bottle of good Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, at £18.00 a bottle was a good deal for a restaurant. The staff were just perfect and could not be faulted, just sort the little things out in the room and you’ll get 5* the next time.
