Great base for Biel
Good hotel - good breakfast and short walk from rail station. The only point I would highlight is it was very hot when I stayed. Whilst fan was provided it was still very hot at night. Would use again if staying in city - but may avoid in exceptionally hot weather !

Hotel has been renovated since it was the Continental. (The bus stop outside the door is still 'Continental' so don't be fooled). If you are arriving by train and not overburdened with luggage leave the station by the back entrance and the hotel is a very short walk through the office development. The room was basically the same as before, but the bathroom was much improved. However, in my room at least, there is still no air conditioning which could be a problem in mid-summer. Opening the windows would not be an option owing to likelihood of insects invading from the nearby lake. Excellent buffet breakfast included in rate available from 06:30 if you need an early start. Computer terminal with printer available in lobby - no problem checking in for my flight and printing boarding card.

Renovated since my last stay- very tasteful. Very convenient for work and comfortable. Good food and service. Would advise a room away from the main road if a light sleeper.

Great Stay - full marks
Arrived early - room ready, always a relief when you've been travelling for quite a few hours. We requested a room with minimal walking and were allocated one directly opposite the lift - excellent. We also requested a 'walk in' shower, not available, but we were provided with a small stool to assist entry/exit from the bath, again excellent. Very well positioned, bus right outside the hotel. Considering the breakfast was included in a very competitive price ( for Switzerland!) it was very good, great selection. We stayed a week and had a complete linen change mid way through. The room was always very well serviced. Reception staff always helpful, particularly Roman, whose assistance in printing my return boarding passes was invaluable.

A great find in Biel!
City Hotel is conveniently located near the train station and offers true single rooms, so you're not paying for space you don't need. The breakfast was good, and the front desk staff was extremely helpful. They let us keep our bags at the desk until check-in, recommended great nearby restaurants and gave useful information about the spa across the street.
