Hotel was in good condition. Lack of signage saying the paying was free for guests meant I paid, and couldn’t get a refund. Bar and restaurant were closed for refurb, which with a 9pm arrival wasn’t ideal. They did message this, but I didn’t see it as I was driving. Property really good condition, excellent breakfast even if it was served in a conference room due to closed restaurants Room was really comfy, but there was a “toilet stain” on the rear of the towel on the towel rail. Luckily spares under bed in drawer. Overall ok. Not amazing but a decent nights sleep and good breakfast

The staff were warm and friendly and the stay glorious. Our only complaints were that the bed was very firm and that the lighting in the bathroom in particular was not well suited to women wanting to wear makeup!

Not as good as other Dakota hotels
On the surface this is a lovely hotel, but although the staff are all lovely the service was disjointed and the rooms were disappointing. Room we booked an executive room and we weren’t convinced that’s what we had and if we did it certainly wasn’t worth £149 per night. The bed was lovely and comfortable and it was clean, well apart from behind the mirror. The layout hasn’t been thought through. The wardrobe is behind the bed and there is no full hanging, so if you have a dress no place to hang it. There are 2 small drawers one with ehe hairdryer in so very little place to put underwear etc. the only shelf in the wardrobe has the tea tray on it so no place to lay flat clothes. The room is very dark even with the main lights on and there is very little space to move around. The shower leaks and again in the bathroom very little space to put out toiletries.
