Terrible stay at Old Churches House Hotel
The room given on arrival was appalling. No number on the door so as we were in the annexe, we had to return to the main hotel for location of the room. It was situated behind a door marked private?? The room (No.16) had no wardrobe or drawers only 5 coat hooks with hangers and no bedside lights. The two double sockets were on the skirting board at floor level so it was impossible to plug items in without over bending the flex. There was a kettle but no electrical socket other than the ones on the floor to plug it in which would have been extremely dangerous. The bathroom door was unpainted. In the shower room the window covering was a shower curtain tied in a knot.Certainly nothing like the pictures on the website. We returned to the Receptionist to ask if we could move to the main hotel. She asked a supervisor and instead of coming to speak with us we heard him shout down the corridor that only Room 15 in the annexe was available. We were given keys to inspect the room ourselves. It was marginally better but still did not have wardrobes. There were drawers and better placed electrical sockets. The room did have coat hooks but not hangers for clothes. There was no covering whatsoever on the shower room window and there was a large stain on the carpet. At check out the following morning there was no mention of how our stay was unlike others who checked out at the same time.We feel that Room 16 was just an old room with a bed thrown in. Never ever again.

Anniversary Treat
We made a last minute decision to go away for our wedding anniversary and came upon the hotel by chance. Dunblane is a lovely place and the hotel is in the right area to be easily located - right across from the Cathedral. We had a small but very comfortable bedroom (our choice) and the staff were welcoming and even treated us to Prosecco when they heard it was our anniversary. The gardens at the back are easily accessible and lots of interesting nooks and crannies including a restored chapel. Food was enjoyable with enough choices to please most

Dunblane old church house hotel.
Hotel was quaint and spotless. Staff were lovely. Would have liked more of a "continental " choice at breakfast- particularly prepared fresh fruit and natural yogurts.. bar closed at 10pm. Residents lounge opening later with a wee night cap would be good. Comfy beds. Enjoyed it overall. A trip round the cathedral is a must.
