Not the worst, but not great
First, the hotel is dated. Air conditioning didn't work, gave up day 3 trying to get it repaired. Restaurants have peculiar hours. Opened late (1/2 hour to 3/4 hour) closed early. Shows were decent. Food was typical resort food. No top self liquor, only well available in most bars. No pool side or beach service. Snack bar food less than acceptable. Mini bar never refilled. Strange cleaning schedule of rooms, not cleaned all at once.

Poor 2.0
Underwhelming to say the least...
Got to the hotel and we were told there was only king rooms available... One of us had to sleep on a cot. We were told a representative of Expedia would be there to help us in the morning. Go up to the room and our keys don't work... Turns out there are two rooms with the same number. The room is so small they have to rearrange the furniture to get the cot in... Took a look around the grounds and it honestly seemed pretty nice... Went into the bar and the options were quite limited. We made a descion to leave before even spending the night.

Accomodation is great
Workers are very welcoming and hospitable. The only thing that I don’t like our tv in the room doesn’t work and one of the lamp need a bulb change. Overall our stay was pleasant.

If you like large resorts and nature
Probably one of the largest resorts on the Cancun strip, with big gardens and pools, animals (iguanas, peacocks, possums), many restaurants. Choose the pyramid (black bracelet) if you want access to everything, including exclusive restaurants, beach club and better rooms. The Sian Ka'an ocean front room is great, with its private mini pool and terrace practically on the beach. Just be careful not to get a room too close to the huge air conditioner which will bury the sounds of the waves (fortunately we were able to change rooms). Downsides: no option for dining outside in the evening and very few for lunch + intense air conditioning everywhere (= we got sick). Also, the À la carte restaurants available for pyramid guests are wayyy too flashy and try wayyy too hard to offer us an exclusive dining experience with too many dishes per sitting and too many flavour combinations (= we got sick). Finally, the nightlife is a little cheesy and I would have liked to see more authentic mexican entertainment. Overall, still, a very nice vacation.

Resort=Great, Food=Not
The resort is nice and the staff are friendly. The only downside is that the food is very Americanized. There is not a single place to get truly authentic Mexican food. Dos Lunas is an Italian restaurant and trumps all. Victoria in the lobby of the pyramid was very helpful with setting up excursions. It was my cousin’s birthday and a cake was delivered to our door! The drinks are 10/10!

Exceptional 10.0
Awesome for what it is.
I stayed labor day weekend 2019 My girlfriend and I had a great time. You have to accept it for what it is. if you are expecting Vegas style luxury and amenities you will be very very disappointed. If you go here expecting a run down Mexican hotel, you will be pleasantly surprised at the level of service and cleanliness. I stayed here with the Oasis lite package a couple years ago. That was okay for me and my buddies on a party trip, but the pyramid package is definitely better for couples and families, i think. The food and level of service are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. With the pyramid (Black bracelet) we got access to all the restaurants and bars for free. we ate at the breakfast buffet everyday, AGAIN, NOT VEGAS QUALITY. but the food is edible and actually pretty delicious. And with all inclusive(free), there really isn't much to complain about. Bring a wad of $1 bills or 20 peso bills for tipping. We ate at Benazuza and the Black hole. You have to make reservations 24 hours ahead of time, but again, its free. The food at both those restaurants were pretty amazing. I highly recommend both places. We did scuba diving at a place called aquaworld, its walking distance from oasis (but we had a rental car). they valet for free (bring tip money). as part of the pyramid package we could have free kayak rentals at aqua world but we ran out of time. Its a 1 hour drive to Xcaret. 20 minutes to airport. 10 minutes to coco bongo.
