Nice room and bar. Staff tries hard but a number of them have very limited english unlike what we encountered in most other hotels we stayed. Breakfast and restaurant very poor.
I had an amazing stay at the Funny Lion Hotel. Their staff are so kind, accommodating and really go the extra mile to make your stay that much better. My stay was at the beginning of the lockdown, when they announced that we had two days till domestic travel would stop. The manager went above and beyond, making phone calls, looking at flights, running around and even trying to find transport off of the island for all his guests. room was big, clean and had a nice bed and bathroom. The restaurants were very nice and the food was great. I would definitely recommend staying here and will be back in the future! :)
This is a small hotel but when we arrived we were very hot so the handed us lemonade. I mentioned it was our anniversary so they gave us a free bottle of wine. The fridge in your room is stocked at no additional charge. They DID NOT try to charge us hidden fees. We felt comfortable and welcomed to relax.
I loved the property. No complaints. It was near the pool and the restaurant, which was perfect! Quiet place with extra friendly staff. Would come here again.
The staff was very attentive, they gave us a bottle of wine with a nice happy anniversary made from flowers on our bed. The pool is nice and relaxing, the food was very good and happy hours on the roof top for the sunset view is spectacular.
Absolutely incredible place to stay. Fro. Airport pick up to check out lots of little touches from a gift each day, comfortable beds, welcome drink, unbelievable breakfast buffet, friendly staff. A short tuk tuk ride into town. I would highly recommend The Funny Lion is visiting Coron!
I thought the service was excellent, the staff was super friendly, and the food was delicious - especially the muffins.
The staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional. The food was top notch. Pool and rooftop bar area a plus. WiFi in the rooms was pretty much non existent. Our jobs require to check in during US hours and a bit of a hassle to have to go to the restaurant to work. The good thing is we were in room 112/poolside close to the restaurant which made it convenient. Also, hot showers only occurred on day 1. That said, we didn’t complain about it so not sure if it was able to be immediately fixed if we did.
It’s advertised as a boutique hotel, but the staff are quite young and somewhat inexperienced, breakfast was ok, at times not the freshest however it’s a remote location so that could be expected. Coron in general is on the pricier side compared to the rest of the Philippines. The airport transfer is not included 400pesos round trip) but is very convenient. The 5km distance from the hotel to town encourages a 50peso per Person tricycle ride which was quite frustrating. The hotels “go to” tour company JY Tours is NOT recommended and I did mention to the staff that the tour they booked me on was not to the same standard guests of this hotel would expect. You’re better off booking independently with a better company. The room was clean and comfortable, though the fridge seemed to be warm and not cold, the coffee was strong but not the right grind for a French press. In summary don’t expect a global level of boutique hotel level of service and food and you won’t be disappointed. Staff were very friendly, pool was great and the little freebies of a backpack and bands were very nice! I would recommend a stay here if you like a quieter More restful stay.
We booked their pride room for two nights paying ₱9350/night. The photos and reviews convinced us to book this resort and thought it's perfect for relaxation. But when we get to resort we were so shocked how small it is. No space for relaxation except for the pool side area. The photos are very deceiving. We checked in yesterday 4pm and checked out this morning at 8am. We wasted a night of accommodation coz this resort is not what we thought it would be. The reasons are : 1. We booked the pride room thinking is would be a great room for relaxation since we don't have anymore plan for two days. They gave us a room with no view. Felt like you are in a box. TV isn't working, no network coverage in the room, wifi is on and off, air-conditioning is too noisy. Anywhere in Asia, if you are paying a room for around 200usd, you are expecting a little luxury. But this room is too pricey for what it offers and what the resort can offer. 2. Their drinks are way too pricey. Cocktails at 350/glass unless you avail their happy hour between 5-7pm. JW Black label shots is at₱400/shot. We didn't realized that it's so expensive until we paid the bill upon check out. That's more expensive than 5star hotels in Makati! 3.During our check out, the receptionist was aware that we are checking out a day early. She didn't asked us why, instead she told us that they will forfeit the remaining night and even asked us where are we going to transfer.
