Hotel stay was good, but...
Stayed for PAX East. Room was comfortable. Staff was helpful. Friends who used the pool enjoyed it. Bar was sub-par. Most concerning thing - they have no real way to monitor parking. They give you a pass to get in and out of the lot, but don't keep tabs on when you entered. I end up getting charged for 2 extra days worth of parking. 1 charge for $25.00 and another for $75.00. I had planned on staying late Sunday so paid for an extra day in advance, but left earlier than planned, so I returned to the desk for a refund, which they said they did. Then I see the 2 charges on my card. Not a problem - mistakes happen. The problem is this: Called to correct the charge and was lied to. Was told they charge $25.00 at check in for parking. I gave authorization for the incidental charges, not this random charge - what if I didn't have a car? We didn't even exchange the ticket for the swipe card until the 2nd day of our stay. Woman who I spoke with on the phone told me to call back on Friday because if the front desk associate did it correctly, the credit for parking should hit the account by then. It didn't. Called Friday - no answer. Called today (Monday) - no answer. I opened a dispute with my credit card because, quite frankly, it's an easier path than trying to get a hold of someone who is going to argue (and lie to me just to get me to shut up) with me about parking charges. Long story short, stay was fine. Don't bring a car.

OMG! I don’t know where to start. But first and for most I can say out of all the hotel I’ve stayed at in my life, Aloft is the star on the top of my Christmas tree. From when I started to walk in the place I was amazed on how it look to the point I had to tell myself, “Am I at the right place” lol. The service people were wonderful and helpful. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was wonderful. I loved how they have a game lounge area near the bar. I also loved outside area where they had the fireplace and the big connect four game (where i beat my husband ass in lol). I also love how the elevator operate to get to our room, which is awesome because you don’t have to wait and your not clogged up in one elevator with a lot of people. When we got into our room, let me tell you the view was amazing. We was in room 802 and let me tell you when I woke up and it was raining and how the cloud was I felt like i already had a spot in heaven it was a beautiful feeling. The bed was comfy and room service was really good with the cleaning. The only thing that was bad but not really was the room door. When we walk in a couple of time we thought it was gonna close on it own after walking in but a couple of time we forget that we had to push on it harder for it to fully close. My husband had gotten us their breakfast and it was also amazing.

I would not stay here again
Hotel looks and feels modern, with nice views and a convenient location, but that's where it stops. The walls were paper thin, meaning I could hear the people in the room next door talking and even opening their blinds each morning and night. There is zero noise insulation, meaning I could hear the live band on Lawn on D almost lyric for lyric, from around 8am in the morning until around 11pm at night. There is also a lot of construction going on in the nearby area. There was a check-in error made by the hotel on the first night. Our room was not checked off the system, so early in the morning we were awoken by another guest desperately trying to check-in to our room. We were then properly awoken by a phonecall, enquiring about who we were and how we had gained access to that room. Their system showed us booked in for only one night, and they demanded proof that I had in fact booked for 3 nights (luckily I had still kept the email). The member of staff blamed other members of staff for the errors, rather than taking responsibility. The system issue was never addressed and as a result of their error, our room was not cleaned for the entire stay, despite requesting it on two occassions. Overall a poor experience, bitterly disappointed I wasted my money here.

Rough check in, flooded bathroom.
The hotel itself was lovely. Check-in was a mess, however. For starters, I was given a key that didn't work and when I came back down to re-activate the key, I was able to get into a hotel room, but, it wasn't my hotel room-- another guest was already in that room. I went back down and the third time was given a key and was able to get in my room. The next morning, I woke up to shower and the bathroom was flooded. The flooding had come from the ceiling. I was unable to walk to the toilet or get into the shower due to about an inch of water coming out of the bathroom area. I called down to the front desk and was told to let them know when I checked out and they'd send an engineer up since I "was probably checking out soon" even though it was 7:00 AM. I used the bathroom in the lobby that morning. When I checked out I showed the video of the bathroom and explained my experience and haven't had any resolution from the hotel. Such a bummer because it's a nice facility with a pool and gym and in a great location!

Things you should know
The hotel was all right the room was clean and well stocked. It has a mini fridge, which was useful. The windows could have done with a bit of tlc, lots of finger prints. The staff at the hotel was lovely. You should know that this hotel does not have parking close by. It is off site and you have to self park. Also parking is NOT guaranteed. It happened one night and my only option was street parking. Not an easy thing to find with an event venue right next door to the hotel. To get to the hotel from the lot you will have to walk around a deserted back road surrounded by dumpsters, warehouses and other parking lots. The area is nice enough but as I was travelling alone it wasn't my favorite part. The garbage smell on that walk made matters worse. Lastly, there is a really cute area (during the day) next door to the hotel called 'the lawn' which plays very loud music until 11pm Thursday to Saturday. Not great music either.... Needless to say if you have a early start pack ear plugs. It was awful. If i'd known about these concerts I certainly would not have chosen this hotel. The noise was so loud you couldn't watch tv. Bottom line if you want to stay in Boston there are other SPG properties you can stay at which would provide much more comfort. Not pleased with this hotel.
