anything but the shower
My room holds 12 people, spacious by its size. However, one of its showers has terribly low pressure, so the water basically dropped down the wall-- it couldn't reach me at all. There was barely enough water to shower, either. So the showering experience on the first day hasn't been pleasant. Although we have two bathrooms in our room, the other one, despite having the right pressure to shower, is way to small. There is only a curtain to separate the shower, the washing stall and the toilet. The tiny washroom is all wet after the shower despite using the curtain. My experience showering wasn't pleasant. The second thing is the air in the room-- Bath was rainy during my staying, my room for some reason, has really damp air. The first night when I slept, I felt my entire mattress and blanket were damp and cold. Later I found out that because we have no ventilation in the room, we have to keep on window open to circulate the air-- as a result of the rainy weather, we got damp air and beds. The hostel is located on Bathwick hill, it's a tiring walk from the city center if you carry your luggage. But the view is pleasant if you are lucky enough to get good weather. There is no lift in the hostel as it's a three-floor house-- too bad if you have heavy and/or multiple luggage. I am not sure if I want to stay there again despite the student-friendly price.

Exceptional 10.0
The property was fab and the location was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was better than expected in terms of bed comfort and decor. I would like to feed back that there could be a couple of simple touches to make it that much better, such as a table in the room. There was a fair amount of floor space, only one little seat (there were 3 of us staying) but no where to put drinks etc. We had to put it on the floor. Aside from this, there were very well located plug points and the beds were very comfortable. Easy check in and check out. Breakfast was good as well.

Excellent Staff but noisy residents
The hostel is clean and the staff are caring and approachable. The noise in the rooms at night - constant snooring, rattles, coughs etc makes it practically impossible to have a good nights sleep. The location is very quiet but lack of ventilation makes the rooms seem stuffy and the smell of BO is also a problem. The only privacy available is in the washing and toiletry facilities. Sleeping in a dorm along with strangers is a challenging experience and many seem to totally disregard those around them. A code of behaviour for residents may be necessary to maintain respect among residents and ensure everyone feels happy and sleeps well in the hostel.

Good 6.0
Efficient and functional
Three main things: I came late at night and did not realise that you had to book towels at reception for a cash deposit, none something I had noticed in the information they sent. The sink was at a height suitable for a child and the hot water was tepid. I was going to have breakfast at the hotel for convenience but knowing Bath well, when I was quoted the breakfast price I knew I could get a fresh cooked meal cheaper in town, which I duly did.

Comfortable & clean hostel, a little out of town.
On arrival, i couldn't gain access to the reception, i think the buzzer wasn't working so it took a little while of me knocking on the door to attract attention. Check in was smooth. The rooms were large & the beds comfortable. The hostel has been recently refurbished and is pleasant throughout. I was pleased with my stay. The only downside for me was location, as it quite far out of town, up a hill. I got the bus both evenings which was frequent (£1.50 single) However, this did mean it was very quiet.
