8/10 Very good

Overall, we had a nice stay. We arrived about 7:30 pm, a little too late for dinner, and should have arrived earlier. The room was small and the beds were too soft and too low to the floor to in our opinion, but the room was clean, the shower was hot and water pressure was great, though the stall was quite small.

Charming hotel

Nice old hotel in the most beautiful location. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Not much to do there, so one night is enough. We were not impressed by the dinner. Very expensive and frankly not very good

Absolutely wonderful stay, the staff was friendly and welcoming, knowledgeable about the area and activities, the room was clean and comfortable, the lounge and restaurant were thoughtfully designed and a wonderful and peaceful place to take in the scenery and relax. Dinner was outstanding, highly recommend staying at least two nights and enjoying dinner both nights. Cannot recommend enough, this was a very pleasant stay.

The hotel is quaint and friendly. All meals are excellent and the staff are very helpfulI. The hotel is located a little off the beaten track. so apart from a small grocery store there is little else to the town. It is however close to lots of hiking trails and the Jostedal National Park and glacier. And the views from the hotel are stunning.

Really enjoyed the evening discussion about the history of the property! Food was extremely good!! Staff was very friendly and courteous! The area is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen- and the fact that the hotel is in a book city puts this in the 6 star category. Absolutely amazing all around!!!

8/10 Very good

Quirky characterful property with a stunning location right on the fjord. We stayed 1 night on our 2 week trip around Southern Norway and had a "compact" room which had a lot of character (I hadn't slept in a library before!). Excellent 3 course dinner using local produce.

Beautiful view and location for seeing fjord and glaciers. Hotel rooms are very small and ours had slanted attic style ceiling, so my 6 foot son kept hitting his head. Included breakfast was amazing.

I loved my room. I had the library room and it felt like being surrounded by friends. I need to put bookshelves in my bedroom just like this. The food was amazing. I adored the ratatouille. The staff were very pleasant. I highly recommend this place.
