Lovely by the lake.
Had a midweek evening here, it’s a very special place in a unique location. It’s a mixture of buildings and amenities by the lake and my lake view room (in a separate building) was clean, roomy and comfortable. The verandah was a great bonus overlooking the hotel and the lake in the distance. Only negative was my starter at my dinner but that was dealt with satisfactorily and the waitress team (esp Sam) was really nice and attentive. A great asset all of them! Overall I’d definitely go back to enjoy the place again... it’s got a lovely holiday feel to it. Oh and people with mobility issues may struggle as it’s very hilly.

Beautiful views at a wonderful historic hotel!
A beautiful hotel with incredible views. Staff were very kind and helpful and excellent facilities on offer. The pool sadly wasn't working when we stayed but the tennis and mini golf was good fun! Lovely hotel rooms and enjoyable all round stay!

Beautiful surroundings
Worth paying the extra for a Deluxe or Superior room to get a balcony and super views of the surrounding grounds and lake. Deluxe room is comfortable with large double bed but general decor a bit dated. Comes with free access to the pool and sauna. Grounds are very well kept, plus wildlife (rabbits and ducks) on the lawns. Bit of a hike up to the restaurant and bar which is in a separate building but restaurant food is good. Staff are friendly.
