Room lovely, location and views on site lovely - the pool is very strange that you need to enter it from outside and you walk directly into the pool, and have to take your shoes off at the door - I wasn't aware of this - so didn't go prepared for this - overall the room and service was excellent.

Awful
I stayed her for a night. I wouldn’t again. The receptionist treated me with disdain on checking in. The room was sort of ok, there were strange pictures on the wall with a little blue light that kept turning on all night, like someone is spying on you. There was mould on the ceiling in the bedroom, in the bathroom and on the window a. There wasn’t any hot water for a shower. Don’t bother with the restaurant, service was awful and the food was dry and tasteless. It calls itself a spa, but there were not really any spa facilities, just a pool and they were hard to access. It was super noisy, you could hear everything in the neighbouring rooms and loads of noise from people returning from the bar. I had an early check out and was not given an option for breakfast. Overall this place is trying to be something it really isn’t. I won’t be staying again.

6/10 Good

It's worth staying here
Unfortunately upon arrival we were informed that there was a power cut and could not check in, no food was available and if we wanted to eat we'd have to go out. Upon return we were given our rooms only to find all TVs were on, but no sound. Informed by staff this was due to the powercut and there was nothing they could do. Room had a number of dusty cobwebs hanging from ceiling and the heater in the bathroom did not work. It was noted by my party that the restaurant staff didn't smile, no banter between staff and guests and looked very stressed. However, despite all of the above would I stay there again. I most certainly would and would recommend. The powercut must have caused stress and the staff having to explain over and over again can drag you down. So whilst this may read as a negative review, dont be put off. The views are stunning and the restaurant food excellent.

Rutland Hotel disappointment
Checked into a cosy double room which was only the size of a small single room with a view of a wall 1.5 metres away and a light on all night. Booked the hotel for the Spa facilities but could only swim. No sauna/steam room (broken) or treatment’s available due to staff shortages! I tried to book the treatments 2weeks before the stay but couldn’t get 2 treatments together on the same day. Complained to the hotel but all they did was apologise. I read I couldn’t cancel the reservation as I had already paid for it so we felt committed to turn up for the stay. Most disappointing as the hotel is in a great location. Not made to feel very welcome or comfortable.

Great location, well equipped lodges
Great location and nice lodges. Plenty of space. Heating a bit odd as too hot upstairs (but better than too cold I guess). Well equipped and perfect for a short break. Gym and pool facilities useful to have.

Great resort hotel, dinner seemed a bit expensive but they give 20% discount with room card if you booked. Assume they don't do this in full season
