    Amazing location and service
We stayed 3 nights there in one rooms with "mountain view" While the room itself was very good : two queen beds, balcony with prime view of the garden where hummingbirds come and feed every morning, the view of the volcano was sadly hidden behind thick clouds the whole time. We went on the morning walk during which we saw Howler monkeys. The lodge grounds have lots of wildlife and is good for hiking and birdwatching Restaurant has excellent staff

    Great Hotel in impressive surroundings
Great hotel with great views of the volcano. Great pool area and walks in the grounds . Free guided walk by the hotel every morning where you get to see the wildlife. A tractor takes you back up the hill. Food good but the same breakfast every day. It is quite isolated which is good but the journey back into town is around 5k on a very bumpy track - but well worth it.

    Great onsite trails
This place is really good if you want to enjoy the grounds and hopefully see some of the wildlife. It is in the middle of nowhere but has enough to do for a few days - we didn't even get the chance to visit the pool or Jacuzzi - which looked very nice. Some of the rooms are away from the main building, maybe 500m down the road, and although they will happily send a vehicle to drive you up the road, you'll obviously have to wait for this each time, so if you are without transport, bear this in mind. If you like a bit of walking, this a great place because there are a number of trails onsite to keep you busy. The bar and restaurant area is a pleasant place to hang out in and the food was much better than I expected (after reading some poor reviews on this point). It is cooler in this area than other places (Alajuela, Jaco) so can offer some welcome respite from the heat, especially at night.

    Don't miss staying here!
What views and gorgeous rainforest landscaping! We have stayed here at least three different times over the past 25 years and it has just gotten better and larger! The dining experience is so special with the menu choices and the incredible view of Arenal Volcano beside you and even flocks of gorgeous birds eating fruits that they put out on poles twice daily by the large deck outside the dining room.
