Mestre not a great area. Room clean, bed held up by breeze blocks! No soundproofing…

as was requested,we contacted Gian Luca two days prior to our visit, to inform him that we would arriving at about 19-00 hrs.We arrived at 19-10 hrs.Nobody there,if nobody here please phone this number.Five minutes later Gian arrived and let us in. No coffee or milk in room, only two tea bags and sugar.Apart from those small gripes, everything was fine

Great value for money and super friendly host
The place was very spacious and clean. The locality is 5 mins. from Mestre train station. A 7 minute bus ride to Venezia easy access to and from Venezia. Buses running every 12 minutes till midnight. The host was very accommodating and providing a personal touch. The reception is open by appointment only and he makes you feel very welcome. Provided a great deal of information about services and places to visit in the area. Highly recommend this B and B to family and solo travellers. One small downside is the kitchen has no stove or cooker but there is a microwave and fridge.

Easy access to Venice
Easy walk to train. Street parking for 8 euro per night. No coffee. Clean room. 2 twins made into queen. Good deal for a few nights in Venice.

Ants....
Hotel was located close to train station in Mestre, only a 10min walk or so. Easy enough to find. Neighbourhood was a little on the rougher side. The gentleman who checked us in was very nice and showed us lots of great places to visit in Venice and how to get there by bus/ train, etc. He even gave us a ride (at a 35 euro cost) to our very early flight on our departing morning, very professional. However, the room was dated and could have used a good cleaning/ new pillows. We did have a major unpleasant part of our stay. On the first night, we came back from a beautiful day in Venice to discover that we had a major ANT infestation!!! All in our suitcases, all along the floor, hundreds of tiny ants. This was most distressing and even after we sent an email to the hotel, we never heard back from them, at all. It was a definite upset, especially on the last two nights of our whole trip. Not how I wanted to spend my night killing ants.... :(
