Destiny Scotland - Thistle Street Apartments

Overall, the apartment was perfect for two couples staying in Edinburgh...very central, and easy to get everywhere...close to bus, tram to airport and train station a short walk...Loads of good restaurants down York. Only complaints were lack of useful instructions for washer/dryer....(travelling people rely on having such info)...directions referred to page 10 which was not there..... A small supply of washer soap would have been helpful as well....and paper towels for the kitchen. NO coffee maker of any kind....called main office to ask for some sort of coffee maker, or bodum or ? was basically told too bad too sad.....When one has a self catering unit with full kitchen, one expects a minimum of usable tools! We had happily bought groceries for our stay and coffee for the morning. Bathroom inside the larger bedroom also had a shower drain that had not been used for a bit, so sewer smell was terrible in the room for the day....we finally ran water through the shower trap which helped, and the smell did not return. Would suggest that be done regularly before guests arrive. Other than that, would recommend the unit

Wonderful location and a beautiful property. We had the 3 bedroom penthouse with a view of the Firth of Forth in the distance to the north. (Be ready for a lot of stairs, but it is worth the climb.) Bright, modern and balconies on both sides. Well stocked in the kitchen and all the things a group needs for a lovely stay. I would caution that the beds are smaller than kings, more like US queens. I have stayed with Destiny Scotland before at another property nearby and will stay again with them next year. Great homes away from home.

This flat could not have been more convenient for a family with two small children exploring Edinburgh for the first time. A Sainsbury's is just 3 minutes walk away, great for grabbing breakfast foods to cook on the quite nice hob in the up-to-date and remarkably well-stocked kitchen. For other meals we relied on the reliable nearby options, which range from good Japanese to fantastic Italian. The flat offered privacy, comfort, and convenience, and we'd definitely stay again. We just wish the master shower hadn't smelled like mould, and that the gas fireplace in the sitting room had actually worked. Otherwise perfect.

Check-in was very easy using code provided. Great sized apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen & living room. Washing machine was extremely helpful. Only complaint is that the heating in the living room was not working (neither radiators or fireplace) and therefore at night when the temperatures were about 0 outside, we were not able to use the living room as it was just too cold. Main bedroom was nice and warm however and under floor heating in the main bathroom was very nice.

A fine apartment just needed extra attention. Wifi was intermittent....there were building works going on right outside the bedroom beginning early morning including the weekend. An excellent bathroom. The heating was fine although the fire in the sitting area didn't work. There needs to be some net curtains or similar in the sitting area since the apartment is right on the street and opposite a hotel with windows looking straight in...so there was no privacy unless the shutters were kept closed. A really nice apartment but could be so much better with a bit of remedial action.
