The Tremé Hotel

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Treme so much so that we extended our stay another day. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were surprisingly clean, and it's a walk away from the French Quarter. My favorite thing was that they had a full kitchen for guest use and the beds were actually soft (not like most places where you get a mattress so hard you might as well be sleeping on the ground). Also, the room was big enough for 2 without being crowded like many other places. And I really can't say enough about how clean it was. Most places at this price have dirty sheets and towels and stained, gross floors. Our room was ACTUALLY CLEAN. The ONLY thing I didn't like was that the vent fan in our restroom didn't work and that's just a personal pet peeve. I'm not even complaining because we enjoyed our stay so much. When we visit in the future this is for sure where we'll be staying!

one of the Reception staff , give extra key to one stranger that i keep for her the stuff (i help her with the Michal hurricane) left to New Orleans and after one night she open the door again extra key , she wake me up and i didn’t understand what and how she have the access to my room , (that iBook alone and all my wish is to be alone there) she still my money 200$in cash when I’m in the restroom ,i try to stop her but the aggressive staff that give this stranger lady to come break in my room and still my money .... and yes i keep for this stranger the privet stuff like gust because we run together from the storm , the aggressive stuff after she understood what happen and my complines she kick me out from the room and not stop threaten on me she going call police if i not check out now .... agin replay : i sleeping in my room she the aggressive receptionist stuff give to some stranger that know my room number (is privet stuff there ,keep for) robbed me becomes the access to my room because the extra key that appeared from the aggressive lady that constantly threat on me about calling police this is Treme” for me TRAUMA .... i book two nights and they kick me out in 9 pm because they give the to stranger access to robbed me !!!! i need answers from this case i have the receipt of night before from the ATM how much cash i have .... this things can’t happened in any hotel or motel or any place with license that give strangers go in to your room when u sleep !!!

The room is clean and staff were friendly. Only thing was that the hotel is too old - so do not expect a new fancy hotel. Good thing is that the hotel is making an effort to rennovatw it - we saw there are many renovation going on inside the room here and there. The room was a bit small and the queen size bed was also small for two people. Neighborhood is a bit run down so makes it scary for a foreigner to walk around. If you Uber it around between the hotel and the downtown, it should be fine though.

This place is great value considering it is less than a mile from the French Quarter and all the activities of New Orleans. The only two things that scores this down is the surrounding neighbourhood. Although fine during the day, in fact we walked around and through it a few times, at night i would be a bit put off. But don't let this stop you from staying as its only a $6.50 Uber ride to the razzle dazzle of town. The only other thing was the air conditioning unit was a bit on the loud side. Other than that, i would recommend this place for anyone.

THEIVES AND LIARS!!! Stayed for a week back in April. After our first night I declined the maid service before leaving with my girlfriend to go on a tour. Upon returning we came back to see our room had been cleaned and a bunch of my personal belongings had been moved (which they claim was against company policy) and additionally $100 was missing. I let the front desk know it wasn’t a tip and one of their older maids said she had cleaned my room and didn’t see any money. I turned my room upside down only to return to the front desk and be told the woman that said she cleaned my room actually hadn’t, and she had signed off on it after a newer girl had cleaned it and left “sick” immediately after going in my room and she was covering for her. It took the next 6 days of constant persistence to finally speak with the owner on the morning I was checking out he was extremely rude and pretty much accused me of lying when in fact the staff were the ones lying trying to protect each other. Eventually the owner agreed to refund me $150 and I felt it was resolved. 3 weeks later the treme charged my bank card the $150 they’d refunded me, and now they won’t call me back or return my emails. I’ve never experienced something like this from a legitimate business in my life and I travel all over and in third world countries. Luckily I had plenty of money to enjoy the rest of my trip but between the owner and the staff they’re a bunch of crooks and I would recommend staying anywhere here!
