Lovely view
A great hotel and location right on the beach. We have stayed many times and never disappointed. The staff are all friendly and welcoming.

Modern and beach friendly complex
A very modern and stylish hotel as suggested by earlier reviews. A strong nautical theme throughout located right on the beachfront next to a static caravan park. Booked a suite as a romantic escape and checked into the room which was spacious with a small balcony area with a partial view of the beach. All very good. Until I saw the stains. See pictures. Upon reporting this to reception I was told that housekeeping had left for the day and would be informed but that nothing would be done until we’d departed four days later. Not very romantic? The duty manager (unseen) offered as compensation complimentary use of the spa facilities at the ‘sister’ hotel 15 miles away. We’d already learnt that as we’d booked though a money saving website and not directly through the hotel itself that the advertised complimentary use of these facilities were not available to us and we would be charged £20 to use. We did take up this offer and spent a very good day in the gym and the spa there. What a shame the stains on the furniture were there for three more days. In positives, the food in the restaurant was of a high standard and special mention to Clare managing the breakfasts as a very commendable member of staff. Unfortunately the Si-Shack as advertised by the hotel as an alternative to the main restaurant menu was closed throughout our stay and when queried reportedly with no plans to reopen in the near future due to ‘staffing issues’ Overall though a pleasant stay.

Seaside retreat...
Wonderful friendly staff and a beautiful setting. The rooms themselves were very nicely appointed and a lovely bar and outside area. Great for a little getaway.

Enjoyable one night stay 4/5
Lovely master suite with mini terrace to enjoy drinks with a view. The room was fresh and clean, but could really do with air conditioning or at least a fan. I can understand that it’s rare to see such a heatwave in Scotland as at the time of our visit, but top hotels are prepared for such eventualities. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant; the menu was extensive and each dish beautifully presented. Breakfast was tasty, too. (We both wondered where the other half of our mushroom ended up, though.) Reception staff were friendly and the hotel is beautifully located with a stunning view of Arran. We’d stay again and happily recommend a stay to others.
