Scary neighborhood, outdated and dirty
The neighborhood was kind of scary. When I asked the desk clerk about safety (I was traveling alone) she said "it's downtown Missoula, there are homeless people, and no one can guarantee safety". The room was very shabby, bathroom was extremely out dated, 2 wire hangers in the closet, and the TV was an old boxy type. When Hotels.com sent me a questionnaire I responded. The desk clerk called me and told me if I didn't like the room I could leave. I would be give a refund. I had to scramble to find another room at a different hotel. It was really awful.

Overall good
Nice room, good value. My only complaint is that the refrigerator was turned off or not working, so I lost about $20 of produce. I think most guests would assume the fridge would work and not have to check it after a long tiring day

Frostbite Central
Rooms have NO central heat. Got put in a room that had a small space heater probably from the 80s and even with it going the room didn’t get above 50. Had to switch rooms to the “modern” section (who knew you had to pay more just to not get hypothermia) and even with the heater (larger space heater) going full blast it only got up to where we could stand taking off our winter coats. The water was nice and hot, the rooms were clean and the beds were decent but I would never recommend staying there in anything other than warm weather.
