Great service. Great food. Lovely surroundings
Excellent service. Through no fault of their own someone had gone through a cable in the village resulting in the internet in the area being down. I only say this in case other people staying at the same time were to give a bad review. Nothing was too much trouble, even when I asked for a second fan for the dog! (dogs very welcome, only place they can't go, like most places, is restaurant but we are outside twice and in the lounge twice all perfectly catered for) The outside of the property is beautiful too and you can see why it hosts weddings as I am sure the photos come out lovely. We were able to let the pooch off his lead to do his "thing" We didn't do anything in the immediate area, but could see there were plenty of walking options. The food also was terrific and served beautifully, I was a bit full on the second day from a very late lunch so opted for a baked potato. Even this came out as something someone took pride in preparing with a good sized salad accompaniment. Duty manager Steven / Stephen and porter Tony were especially helpful, courteous and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Would be happy to recommend or indeed return.

Lovely hotel - friendly & helpful staff
The hotel is in a lovely location, with stunning views but it is in the middle of nowhere with narrow, windy roads to get there! And don't be surprised if your sat nav takes you down some single track lanes to get there! We arrived at 8.45pm due to traffic delays and were advised that the kitchen closed at 8.45! However, the gentleman on reception ran to the kitchen and asked the chef if he would do some food for us and we were really pleased he said yes. We just ordered a sandwich and chips, but it was so well presented and was delicious. We were grateful they kept the kitchen open for us as we didn't fancy going out to find somewhere to eat. All of the members of staff we dealt with were so helpful and friendly, but especially the gentleman on reception in the evening and the lady behind the bar. We had a family room (one adult and one child) which had a double and single bed. The bedroom was really spacious and the bathroom was huge! It was clean and tidy. Breakfast was also delicious, and it was nice to have it cooked fresh instead of it being from a buffet. We stayed here to break up our journey on the way down to Cornwall and I can't fault it in any way.

Romantic stay
This was booked as s romantic break. Hotel is a bit dated but clean enough and comfortable. The main problem is to access the hotel you have to drive through the mist narrow lanes, that are more of a dirt track than a road, you cannot even pass people walking s dog, let alone another car. There is nowhere to walk to, you are like stranded
