This was a great stay. It was just me and my daughter and we had more room than we needed. The kitchen and living room were great and the hot tub was fantastic!

The black bear guest house in the cedar suite was amazing. We loved every minute of it. There was an amazing view of the ocean and the thoughtful, little touches that were added as a compliment of staying with Black Bear made our stay more than we could have imagined. Thank you so much for everything. The Tofino specialty chocolates were a nice touch and the bikes that you allow your guests to ride while they are staying at your place made our time an amazing adventure. We will be visiting again. Cedar suite was private and romantic. Best stay ever! Thanks again!

Awesome apartment, beautiful and spacious for a small group or family, so perfectly situated for everything to do and see in Tofino, and the Sound on one side and the beach on the other are just wonderful. The hosts are so lovely, really will only stay there next trips!

Everything was as good as we hoped and expected, well furnished, nice touches of greeting, clean, comfortable and cozy, friendly hosts, near beautiful nature, and close enough to town. Only downside, footstep clumping from upstairs neighbours

We had a three night stay in the Cedar Room. The unit is compact but very well laid out, with a seating area with small fridge and small table and high chairs for eating your own light meals or snacks (as advertised there are no facilities to cook/heat food). There is a shower room with toilet and sink and a bedroom with some hanging space and storage - our suitcases slid under the platform bed. Clearly thought has gone into guests' convenience as the property provides waterproof coats, beach towels, beach blankets and the use of bicycles. There are chairs in front of the unit and there is a small deck with chairs for guests that overlooks the tidal inlet at the rear of the house. Thought and care has gone into the layout and the quality and character of the fittings, toiletries, towels and consumables. The only negative point was that we could hear fellow guests in the unit above us walking around during the night. We enjoyed our stay at the Guesthouse which made a great base for visiting Tofino (a 5km drive). Chesterton beaches were within walking distance.

Even during a storm and a power outage, the place remained cosy and warm and the owners checked in with guests to make sure they were safe and had everything they needed.

Very welcoming owner. The cedar room was perfect for the couple days we were there. Bikes were available for use, beaches are 10 minutes away on them. Lots of info in the room about the area and what to do. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The property was in a beautiful setting, surrounded by trees and near the ocean. We walked to the beach in less than 10 mins. The suite was cozy, clean and everything we hoped for. We loved our stay!

Fabulous couple of days staying here. Amazing location with incredible views over the estuary and mud flats. Sadly rained most of the time we were there so no bear sightings but plenty of other things to do in the area. Apartment was extremely comfortable and wished we had booked it for longer.

Property was as described. Nice quiet location just a few minutes out of town. Minimal kitchen amenities so staying in a bit of a challenge, but many good dining options nearby. Good value in a nice location.

Blackbear Guesthouse has lots of comfort and stylish character. I was a solo traveler without a car but was able to take advantage of a seasonal bus service along the Pacific Rim Highway between Tofino and Ucluelet to get into both towns. The hospitable owners were also happy to give me a lift to Tofino if our journeys coincided. I used Pacific Rim Navigators to get a return trip from Long Beach Airport to the Guesthouse, which is not too far from the airport.

Nice accommodation. Liked how bikes were included and it was a very short easy ride to the beach. House was stalked with everything you need to cook and the hot tub is nice to relax in. The guest house is very close to permanent residents. Found the mornings were quite noisy.

Great location and very clean

Excellent location. Very clean. Very friendly owner. No complaints either than hotels.ca need to separate the two suites at this location (one being the Blackbear guesthouse and the other the cedar room). One has a kitchen and the other one does not. The place was perfect and we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful room, excellent locally crafted shampoos and soaps. Complimentary bikes and rain jackets. Very friendly and informative host. Close to beautiful Chesterman beach but a bit far from town and most restaurants however there is a free summer shuttle that runs until around 7-8pm. Overall a great time! Would book again.

The property was beautifully furnished and comfortable. Complementary teas and coffees were welcome and toiletries supplied were of premium quality. The property was conveniently located to explore Tofino and was a short walking distance from a beautiful shoreline. The owners wer friendly and helpful. As there are 2 properties on the same site, be careful to check which you have chosen and the facilities associated.
