Hipster Style close to City Centr
The hotel itself looks delabidated from the exterior however looks are definitely decieving and on entering the true style and modern nature is revealed. We had a fantastic one night stay only 10/15 minutes from the central station. The staff were amazing and the place is really nice and homely with a hipster vibe.

Good quiet central place out of business
The service here really is what stood out for me as well as the general area downstairs. There was lots of room to work, drink or relax and they were very friendly. I really enjoyed staying here and felt very comfortable. The beds were particularly comfortable. The room was small and it was a single bed. Nothing especially good or bad with the rooms, they were clean and fine to use but also fairly small. Fine for me as I like to go out.

Nice hotel countryside
Nice hotel but too fare away from Amsterdam and the Airport. Very good breakfast!

When I gave the address of the hotel to my taxi driver he asked if there was a hotel there. But we went and the hotel really is there; the hotel is new and in an area being re-developed so it makes sense the taxi driver didn't know about it. I like the history of the place (the old Marine base that's being redeveloped for innovative/sustainable businesses). The hotel isn't fancy (it's the old officers quarters), but it's neat and clean with nice staff and a cool back-story. There's a brewery and restaurant at the hotel (I didn't get to sample these) which seem very popular. If you get a room on the same side of the building as the patio seating it can be noisy until the bar closes if you have your room window open (no A/C, so you'll want the window open in the summer). The location is nice with 10 min walk to the NEMO (which would only be 3 minutes if you could swim across the canals) and 25 minutes to Central station. I would stay here again, but if it was summer I would ask for a fan since it does get quite warm.

sunny weekend in Amsterdam
A very different quirky hotel in a quiet part of the city but only a 20 minute walk from the train station and right next to the marina near the maritime museum. Would only stay here in summer for this reason though.
