Quiet comfort in a bustling city.
We spent four nights at the Pension Homeland. We arrived very early but they scrambled to let us in our room. The bed was the best! Very comfortable. The staff was great, we enjoyed two dinners and they were excellent that came with a great view of the city. The beer (brewed on site) was delicious. In a busy loud city the Pension was an oasis of quiet.

Pension Homeland
I had a really lovely time at the Pension Homeland hotel. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, from the reception to the waiters and waitresses. The hotel location is a 20 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal near to the Science Museum and my room had a great view overlooking the water. The room was comfortable and clean and had everything I needed for my 3 night stay. It is in a quiet location and it is only a short walk away from the centre of Amsterdam. I had breakfast every morning and there is a good choice of food to choose from, both hot and cold. I would definitely stay here if I visit Amsterdam again.

8/10 Very good

We were pleasantly surprised by how good this hotel is. As it was fairly budget and seems quite 'quirky', we were expecting it to be a bit Fawlty Towers - but it's actually a really well-run property with plenty of tasteful character. The staff were very helpful and we were thrilled with the view of the canal from our room! The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the double bed was spacious. The area outside is safe and picturesque if you'd like to sit with a drink. The only thing we'd liked to have had is tea/coffee facilities in the room (but there's a kitchen area in the hall, so not a deal breaker). We would certainly stay here again. Thank you!

10/10 Exceptional

This property was perfect for a short stay in Amsterdam. It was within walking distance of the Central train station, and had good bus/tram services nearby. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, and there were blackout curtains on the windows. The area seemed quiet, we were not disturbed on either Friday or Saturday night. The staff were friendly, particularly the lady who was on reception when we checked in. We even got to meet and pat the resident cat! The only downside for some might be that the elevator was *very* slow. The building is very 1960s, but is surrounded by a small park on one side and a canal with a view across Amsterdam on the other side. I would happily stay here again.
