Arrived 3.30pm in the afternoon 26th march the person at reception was on the phone and ignored us while she continued her conversion, were then informed by the same person we had no reservation after some time sorted out wrong information on booking with very little help from the same staff member seemed just too hard for this member of the staff,6.20am 29th march unable to open safe which contained passports and travel doc's early flight home, transfer vehicle booked for 6.30am my wife rang reception and was told nothing could be done, went to reception only to find the same member of staff we had at check in,explained that could not open the safe her answer was nothing could be done and to just wait for the day manager to arrive, asked at what time that would be answer didn't know, she then said she was the night manger, asked her to over ride the safe lock was told she couldn't and to just wait for the day manager, asked for the managers phone number was told she didn't have one, time was moving on, our travelling companions had left for the airport in the transfer vehicle, continued to ask for the managers number and what time would they be here same response just wait,7.10 am day manager arrived I explained the gravity of the situation, the day manager opened a cupboard behind the reception desk and took out the safe override device, all the way to the room the manager kept apologising had the safe open in 1.00 min, made the flight, the day manager was exceptional and saved the day

Great hotel - excellent staff!
Staff were excellent, friendly & helpful. Breakfast options weren't extensive, but it was more than we expected (Things we liked: the fried eggs, sausages, croissants & a great coffee machine!) so we were pleasantly surprised & very happy. The breakfast area was never overly crowded & we could always get a seat. Used plates & cutlery were efficiently cleared away after use, so the area was kept very clean. Breakfast was served from 8am-10:30am. We found the room could have been a little cleaner - we found some ants on the floor, the mugs provided for tea/coffee had some stains around the rim from use, and the ice bucket needed a rinse. The beds were very comfortable & clean. The room & bathroom isn't incredibly spacious, but if you are out and about all day, it is all you'll need. The rain shower head was a nice addition to the hand-held shower head. An ice bucket is available in the room - you collect the ice yourself from the ice machine located in the breakfast area by the lobby. The hotel lifts are quite hot inside, it would be nice if they were air conditioned as well. The lobby is nicely airconditioned. You can leave your luggage in a secure room. Proximity to Clarke Quay MRT was fantastic. Would consider staying here again!

Exceptional 10.0
We have stayed at other hotels in Singapore, this one being the smallest but one of the most enjoyable. Do not become disillusioned by its location on a narrow side street as its nearness to Clarke Quay and the facility it provides is a winner. This is our third hotel in the Clarke Quay area and this is the warmest in hospitality, seeing the same staff each morning, being welcomed by a warm smile and hello. It felt like a family situation. A small buffet breakfast was provided each morning in the ground floor area and coffee and biscuits were available all day in this area. You wont get a view of Clarke Quay as with some of the higher buildings in the Quay but If you don't wish to pay excessive rates for your Singapore stay then this small hotel is a winner and you wont be surrounded by a crush of guests. The room facilities were excellent, being contemporary and very very clean. We have previously stayed at York in the Orchard Road area, Swiss Hotel Merchant Court and Novatel CQ. We stayed a week at Bencoolen in Hong Kong Street and we would do it again on another trip. The pictures provided by this hotel are true images of the facility. Recommended.

Change our king bed to twin without consent
It would have been perfect 5 stars.... Room is fairly clean, surprisingly very nicely furnished, comfortable bedding, like a 4 star hotel. Very pleased and surprised with the classy renovation for such a small place. Some bearable downside includes toilet that needs fixing though - toilet bowl was shaking. Walls are very thin. They ran out of my original room (Deluxe King) and upgraded me to Executive Twin or something. I booked King for a reason - it's a quick getaway with my bf and here she conveniently "upgraded" my room without my consent thinking that I want it?? I don't want any expensive room, i want the KING BED I've booked. I asked the front desk staff to check again and she did not do it and immediately said no. She was just not responsive and not approachable at all! Remember, I didn't ask to be upgraded. I just want what i've book. I would have given it a 5, but 2 due to bad management, simply changing my room, did not bother to attend/attempt to even check, and unfriendly front desk staff. Be sure to INDICATE that you want that specific room, otherwise they might just give you separate beds for couple, which really doesn't make sense at all! The front desk girl on our check out day was polite though, more approachable compared to the unfriendly girl on the 6th May. Hope they will fix their mismanagement, otherwise it would have been perfect.

First time in Singapore. Highly Recommended.
My first time to Singapore. I chose this place given its proximity to multiple public transportation options and its walkability to multiple locations. Would I stay here again? Definitely. Are there places better? Of course. Is it worth the cost? It was better than I'd expected. I stayed here because it was close to a wedding reception at the nearby (and expensive) PARKROYAL on Pickering Hotel. I had room 205 which had all the typical amenities including a comfortable king size bed, a standing shower, a flat screen television, iron, and refrigerator. Nevertheless, there wasn't much a view outside my window which is expected in a big city like Singapore. Down the hall from my room was a garden area to sit outside, talk, and enjoy food. On the same floor is also home to a pantry room which you can smell from every morning as staff prepares the breakfast. Outside breakfast hours, you can clean your clothes for free in their pair of washer and dryer (although it can get busy). Upstairs is a small pool in which they have towels that you can borrow if you like to go to the beach. One of the things that I always look forward to is their continental breakfast which includes halal sausages, eggs (hard boiled and fried), cereal, breads (white, wheat, croissants, danishes) with spreads (butter, jam), biscuits/cookies, fruits (apple, sliced yellow watermelon), juices (orange, cranberry), and a coffee machine (black coffee, latte, Milo, cappuccino). All in all, I would highly recommend.
