    Smart hotel but small room
Queen room was small. No bedside table / shelf or light on one side of bed. Lifts had limited availability, so had to wait. Good size and very powerful shower, bathroom OK but limited toiletries space. Nice balcony and chairs. No desk or chair.

    Poor 2.0
Disappointing given the price and reviews. On check- in despite booking a “Gotham view” we were told that this didn’t guarantee a city view. Upon complaining we were however moved to a city view room. Although there are free sun loungers by the pool the hotel requires the purchase of beds by the pool which I find very disappointing given the price of the hotel.

    Poor 2.0
    Terrible service and poor quality
Terrible service with poor customer service and cleaning. I t room only got cleaned once in four days in spite of repeatedly asking reception. The lifts also stopped working which made it difficult to get between floors. All in all I would say it was bad value for money if it was a 3 star the fact that it’s a 5 star it is terrible. They also charge for using the pool on top of your stay.

Go for the views but don’t stay the night
For a newish hotel, the William Vale is in pretty crappy condition. Sort of how you look after a hard night out. Everything is chipped, dinged or just worn. The roof bar was pretty spectacular from a views perspective but the service was so rude and the drink selection so poor and such poor quality (an espresso martini that was burnt coffee and vodka) that we didn’t stay long. The room was fine until we went to bed and were woken by the nightclub across the street going for a massive session. Awesome if that’s your thing but not if you actually want to sleep. All in all it’s bad style over substance and not worth the price tag.

    Perfect location
Beautiful hotel in the perfect area for exploring Williamsburg. Will definitely go back. The views from the balcony and rooftop bar are amazing.

The staff were super helpful and friendly, but I was super disappointed by a few things. My room was incredibly noisy - there's a construction site directly below that made noise all night. It also has big lights illuminating the construction area - and the light pollution from this meant the (amazing!) view wasn't what it could have been. I was also woked up by a maid knocking on my door, even though the do not disturb was on, and generally the room was really noisy. It's a decent enough option - but definitely not worth the price.

    Nice hotel. Not great service
The hotel is great. The pool is great. The location is great. Free Breakfast was great. Everything was very clean and sanitary. But no one ever answers the phone. Not to make pool reservations or to order room service or for anything else. Service was non existent.

Disappointing...pool access on 1 day only
Food: We tried Westlight and Leuca. But that was the only good experience we had. We stayed Friday-Sunday. You come here to use the pool and we were not able to do so. We checked in Friday and were able to get pool reservations from 230-530. When we got there we were sat on the terrace side (not pool front) then we paid $250 for a poolside pergola which was ours to use until the pool closed at 8. For Saturday they told us that the pool was booked all day and we were placed on a waiting list. I called in the morning to find out if there was any open availability and they were not very nice over the phone. They said would call if anyone cancelled and that they had to honor customers pool reservations for up to an hour. It was still early so we went out for brunch. When we got back around 2pm we called again and were given the same answer. Meanwhile, we checked the pool from our balcony and there were plenty of seating options. We checked every hour and the pool was nearly empty most of the day with plenty of open options. We were willing to pay $250 again for a pergola (which was empty and unused all day until the pool closed, we were consistently checking.) There is limited pool access on the day you checkout until 11am. It was very disappointing as you pay all this money to stay there to what stay in a room all day and not able to use the hotel pool? Very ridiculous! I will not be staying here again. Last year we stayed at the 1hotel in DUMBO and that was an amazing place!
