Really pleased with my stay at The Majestic. The room was spacious, clean and had everything I needed, including great WiFi, a smart TV and tea and coffee facilities. The bed was very comfortable and the sea views were beautiful. Check-in was simple and hassle-free, and the whole stay was relaxing and enjoyable. I'd be happy to return in the future.

Perfect if your priority is to be next to the beach and sea but this hotel needs a lot of TLC. I paid for breakfast but it was in the basement and I was the only one and had to find staff at reception. They prepared hot food for me but it wasn’t really hot. I took my food and drinks up to the lovely bar/ cafe upstairs with a view of the sea and pier. Redesign and investment could do wonders for this hotel.

Definitely a feeling of faded splendour (though I think that sums up Eastbourne as well). Pleasant enough but not a luxury hotel. It was fine for what we paid (£80 for 2 rooms). Neither lift was working (broken for months apparently) so we discovered an absolute labyrinth of staircases up to our rooms on the 3rd floor. No central staircase, just loads of staircases everywhere! We worried about getting out in the event of a fire.... The staff were really lovely, so helpful & friendly, and the place was nice & clean.

The hotel is a ruin. The room we were given was covered in mold. The supposedly beautiful sea view was replaced by dirty, rotting windows. It felt like a slum. Only the bedding looked fresh. After complaining, we were given a room with more favorable conditions.

Had a good nights stay, the staff were friendly and helpful, the building is a little old and very quiet downstairs. However the room was as expected for the price, also there is free parking outside after 6pm until 8am, so that was extra helpful. Wont ever book again. Paid extra for a superior room over the airshow. The room was a mess. The TV was not working after several complaints the staff did nothing and did not fix it. The room was falling appart and had cracks all around the ceiling like the ceiling was going to cave in. The window didnt stay open the only 2 inches you could open it.. messaged the team online as the staff didnt speak english and they did nothing to help. Absolutely ridiculous and disgusting place. If you have to stay at last resort do not pay extra for superior room because they are 10 times worse. There quick enough to take your money but not quick enough to sort any issues. Only good thing about the room was the bathroom... was tempted to sleep in the bath for the weekend. Damp all across the ceiling and the floor was pure filth.

Once a Great Hotel, Now Very Tired Sadly, the Majestic Hotel in Eastbourne feels like a shadow of what must once have been a great hotel. The whole place is now looking very tired and in need of some serious investment and refurbishment. The carpets were dirty and worn, and the bedroom was extremely basic. The television worked only sporadically, and the curtains didn’t even close properly. None of these things individually would ruin a stay, but together they give the impression of a hotel that has been allowed to deteriorate. On a positive note, the staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming throughout my stay, and I couldn’t fault them. I was, however, quite shocked when checking in to be asked if I wanted to inspect the room before I paid. In hindsight, perhaps I should have taken them up on the offer! In summary, this once-great hotel is now very much a case of you get what you pay for — and unfortunately, that isn’t very much.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location by the sea and near the pier. It needs a complete refurb! Our room was sea facing and the window only opened a slither at the bottom which in 35° heat was unbearable. Even with 2 fans in the room it felt like a hairdryer blowing hot air on us. Spot lights outside the windows lit the room up all night! We had very little sleep. The carpets were filthy. The shower was too small and didn't drain. We paid premium for the room because of the air show, but it really wasn't worth it. We left a day early because we couldn't stand another night there. I can honestly say that I have never stayed in a hotel this bad and will never return! Additionally, I left my glasses at the hotel and when I tried to contact them, I got a woman in a call centre in India! She didn't recognise my details and wouldn't put me directly through to the hotel. This was infuriating! Luckily a friend of mine lives in Eastbourne and was able to retrieve them for me. So don't leave anything behind!

The room was incredibly hot with a window that only opened a very small amount. It was during the recent heat wave. A fan was provided to us but did little to cool the room. As I had my 3 yr old with me I asked for an additional fan which was provided. The room was ok however the carpets are very worn and stained, The toilet was not clean either. Staff are polite and do their best to help.

The property is in dire need of refurbishing. The room was unbearably even with the fan provided. The towels and sheets were clean but just a thin cotton sheet covered the bare mattress. 2 guys working there were as helpful as they could be despite appearing to be covering all jobs in the hotel. When we left both lifts were out of order leaving us to carry suitcases down several flights of stairs. The main thing going for this hotel is the location.

The sea view was good but you couldn’t open the windows as one was sealed the other only open a little as it had a safety catch! Looks like they repainted the room but missed a lot of patches which are very visible! The hotel needs a lot of work on repainting and replacing, the staff were not very helpful seems looking at their phones. The weather was very hot and so were the rooms they gave us a very small fan !

My original room had a filthy kettle, cracked paint flakes (from the deteriorating room) all over the floor near the window- a vacuum had been nowhere near or by! I went to the reception and she showed me two alternative rooms ( one was on 2nd floor- and as the hotel seemed full of single men I did not want to navigate my way there after being out- I am female, travelling alone) The second one was just about acceptable- the linen and towels were clean- but carpet had a lot of stains. I was only staying for 2 nights and the hotel is in a good location. The member of staff said the new owners gave only had it for a month- my suggestion would be ti close down and fully refurbish. It was very reasonable- but did not match the advertised pics and looked derelict from outside. I will defo look closer next time I book anything.
