Fiasco Dinner!!!
Hotels were clean and beds were very comfortable. Staff great. One night dinner at Belvedere was a disaster. WItress entered our meal incorrectly. Never received our food. Waited for over 45 minutes and was ready to leave. Staff advised food was almost ready to come out of the kitchen. I guess as a kind gesture we were provided with a free drink. All four hamburgers were very over cooked and very dry!!! We could not eat the meat. In America, the meals would at least have been written off. That did not happen and apologies for this fiasco little!!!

Excellent stay in the heart of Shakespeare's town
This lovely hotel is dripping with history whilst being full of modern comforts. Every small detail was seen to... with high quality tea and coffee, plus port and shortbread! The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was clean and tidy and homey in the uniquely decorated room. I overlooked Shakespeare's grammar school-- a real thrill for such a lover of his plays. To look out and think that there is the very place where he learned his language skills and his history was remarkable and special. The legendary David Garrick stayed in the building back in his day, and I hear Dame Judi Dench likes it there too! The breakfasts were generous and yummy and served with a smile (thanks Hannah!) and I had lunch and dinner there during my stay as well. The location is unbeatable. Everything is a short walk from the front door and it is the perfect place from which to base yourself and enjoy some theatre and explore this friendly historical town. Neal and all the staff are cheerful and friendly and make you feel among friends. I am from the "other" Stratford in Ontario, and felt just as at home in the orginal. A wonderful friendly town packed with history: the ultimate place for lovers of Western theatre. I will definitely stay at The Townhouse again.

Very good 8.0
Lovely hotel, exceptional service.
Lovely hotel and bar and service was exceptional at all times. Only a couple of very minor niggles: room was uncomfortably warm, air conditioner a little sporadic and couldn’t have window open as it was directly above the bins. Paint peaking off of ceiling looked a bit tatty. Room wasn’t cheap, so a little disappointing. However, bed was really comfy, room quiet and breakfast great. All in all, mainly excellent.

Excellent location andn ice pub with friendly locl
Arrived late by car from London and staff checked me in with minimum fuss. Did not get a chance to try the food as I had to get to theatre almost immediately. Did get a pint of beer in the bar which was lovely. Great coffee with Nespresso acine in the room. Very welcoming atmosphere and worth the amount paid through Expedia Car parking not available on site so a five minute walk to NCP which should have been £16 overnight but with ticket from hotel reduced a much more palatable £4.90. Would I recommend the hotel. Yes I would but it's great location in the centre of town also means that you do get some town noises in the morning. If that does not bother you then go for it. It did not bother me and I think it's a hotel well worth using again. It's a nice hotel to visit and I will do so again at a more leisurely pace.

Great Location if You Don't Mind Lack of Cool Air
This hotel had a great location in the heart of Strafford-Upon-Avon, which made it easy to enjoy our time. We were right near restaurant row as well as many of the Shakespeare attractions. The room was lovely, but the lack of air conditioning made things a wee bit difficult. While I was fine, my husband tends to run hot and the fans provided by the hotel were not enough to provide him with a comfortable night's sleep. With that being said, we had some important phone calls we needed to make and didn't had a phone in our room. The receptionist was wonderful and allowed us to use the desk phone with as much privacy as could be mustered. Additionally, the breakfast that came with the night's stay was satisfying, which made the rest of our day enjoyable.
