Great location
Great location of the hotel. No hot water on the last day.

Tired hotel
With the exception on the restaurant, bar, coffee bar and lounge it's all looking and feels like a tired hotel, a shadow of what it would have been in its heyday. The lift was out of action for our stay. Our breakfasts were forgotten on one morning, and our toast the following day. On one occasion our room wasn’t attended to, although we had spoken to the housekeeper as we left our room in the morning. WiFi is only available in the public areas. I had a very good Vodafone 4G signal though. On the plus side, the location cannot be faulted, and the check-in experience was very good as were the reception staff.

Great hotel has “character”
The lift was out of order due to renovations but the tape covering the buttons looks like the renovation has been going on for a while ! Staff were very helpful and the bar has a pool table which is great. Food was fabulous ( the steak pie was sensational) The hotel is dated and could do with modernising but i clean and tidy. The hovercraft is opposite the hotel and starts around 6:30am but it’s just a couple minutes of noise.

Exceptional 10.0
Great staff - hotel could do with some love!
First room was great but tiny bathroom and a hand held shower with a slanted wall so you couldn't stand in it! The hotel moved us to another ground floor room with a better shower but then we didn't have a sea view like we had paid for!

Great location with poor management.
The staff overall are very nice however they are not happy. The owner of general Manager is not engaging them and is not maintaining the facility including the rooms.

Worst night I’ve had not stay there again
Was the worst stay I’ve ever had in this hotel I have stayed here a few times the bath had all hairs around it and my son went to get into bed and the sheet was covered in poo emailed the manager on my way home and I’ve still not had a response after a week

It was ok !
Receptionist was poor on arrival, told us we were in room 9a on the first floor and the lift wasn’t working, took us ages to find the room at the back of the hotel up two flights of stairs. She said breakfast was between 07:30 and 09:30 but not where the breakfast was served. Prices for drinks very expensive, pint of cider and a double fine and tonic £17.40 hence only one round and no food consumed there, we went to the castle hotel where the same round of drinks were £4 less. Got shouted at at breakfast after finding a room with tables to be shouted at to go next door. breakfast was ok.
