Not worth it
An hour after check in room was not clean and ready. Could have been half the employees were out smoking in front of hotel. When we finally got in, the lemon cleaning supply smell was obnoxious. I paid $205 on and then the hotel charged me $167. I followed up with hotel next day, they said someone made mistake and would fix. Never did :( Had to dispute claim with credit card. Good location. Bed was comfortable.

Underwhelmed at La Galerie French Quarter Hotel
Requested top floor, not next to elevator @ check in. Didn't get either. Plus fresh paint was on wall outside our room next to elevator! Insisted on room change or we were NOT STAYING! Our requests were answered. New room underwhelming due to inadequate outlets, no table to lay belongings on, terrible pillows, bubbled paint on BA walls, no coffee maker, hanger shortage, no suitcase stands. Paying $170-$377 a night was a rip off... Only pluses were the Coterie Restaurant next door and good location for walking around the French Quarters. Night clerk that checked us in wasn't the friendliest. The others were better!

Just okay
This was a very average hotel experience. The hotel has a nice boutique feel and appeared clean and was very conveniently located. However, there was a large gap under the front door of our room where you could easily hear all noise in the hallway. We were on the 2nd floor and could also hear a lot of street noise - ranging from moderate conversations to late night yelling. The shower was not as hot or firm as you'd like and no shower door was odd. For the price, I've stayed in much better - cleaner/brighter/smelled nicer/etc. Overall, it was fine but I would not stay here again or recommend it.

A very mixed bag
This was a very mixed stay. Location was great, price was fair for the location and we knew the rooms would be a little on the small side before we came (e.g. no room for a real desk, but they provided a lap desk as a sort of work around). Staff was super friendly, too. And as a bonus, for a downtown hotel it really wasn't loud at all. We even got a little bag with some water and a couple of snacks at check in. So why was this a mixed stay? After a great first impression the details were unfortunately not so great. None of these by themselves would be an issue but in accumulation it was disappointing. E.g. one of the snacks in the gift bag had a best before date that was 2 months in the past. When getting to the room, there were still items from the previous guest in the fridge (open bottle of wine and beer). There were lots of black hair and some strange flakes on the sheets of both (very comfortable) beds. Too tired to move rooms, we just brushed them off. The sheets themselves seemed clean. Interestingly the same happened the next day again. Black, mid long hair and some weird, dry dirt flakes that easily brushed off. We all have blond hair so it wasn't our hair. We decided to skip having our room cleaned and the beds made for the rest of the trip. Our own filth for 3 more days seemed better than keep having to deal with someone else's. Tiles were broken, shower door not securely installed, bare wood not painted at door frame. Overall just disappointing on the details
