Good central location. Unfortunately the decor and the rooms were a bit tired looking. Our room was quite scruffy. The carpet had a nasty looking stain beside the bed and the bathroom needed some maintenance.

The hotel was easy to find. The room was comfortable and we had a great view of the river. It was central in Wick. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel’s restaurant - No. 1 Bistro - which is located on the shortest street in the world. Very convenient for travelling to John O’Groats.

This is a great hotel. Made to feel very welcome. Very good rooms and the food was lovely. Situated in a very interesting part of town right next to the river. An hotel with character.

The reception/management staff make up for a lot. In the room was a lovely ‘tipple’ left for us which we think was port, cute touch but we didn’t take it up. I’d imagine when it was built it was in its hay day, it’s quite dated now but in this particular case it adds to the charm. The on site restaurant is the BEST place to eat in Wick. Not kidding either, the rest of Wick is very run down with a lot of shop closures and boarded up windows. It seems to be in a depression right now.
