Leasowe Castle Review
An old building being refurbished bit by bit. Main areas very nice but need a little more work, notably the lift to upper floors which is apparently scheduled for replacement. In the bedroom we had although some work had been done to make it acceptable, it was still a little bit tired. The bathroom though clean etc. needed further updating. For someone elderly like myself the bath was really too high to access the overbath shower and the base too narrow to stand safely especially with no handrail to help. Don't all modern hotels have showers nowadays? The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Overall a very friendly and comfortable hotel which in school report terms "could do better"

4/10 Fair

Never again
Restaurant was advertised as open from noon. It wasn’t opened until 1245, by which time there was a queue of diners. Staff were walking by with plates of food. Order wasn’t taken until gone 1pm. Other diners have up and left. I was overcharged for food. I’d had my request for a room with a bath confirmed. The room allocated didn’t have a bath. The alternative room had a connecting door which didn’t lock rendering neither room secure. The room wasn’t in the best condition (water stained ceiling and drawers, broken radio, bath had missing or rusty or broken fittings, the shower came on while running a bath due to poor plumbing). I would’ve checked out, but I was there for a wedding at the venue.

2/10 Poor

fire alarms go off during the day and in the night. beds not made. No heating in the room - freezing cold at night and would not even supply an additional blanket. The food in the restaurant is very poor. Staff abrupt.

Lovely but terrible bed
The hotel looked brilliant, the staff was lovely especially Mark in the brasserie, the room was okay, the bathroom needed a clean and a bit of a refurb, but the bed was horrendous to be fair, felt as if i was 50 years older, my neck my back and even my chest was aching the mattress was that hard. Bit of a shame as i did like the hotel
